Kwankwaso Receives New PhD Holders

Former Governor of Kano state Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has received new PhD holders sponsored earlier by his administration for MA degrees across the globe as new brand Ph.D. holders.

 

The former Governor received the PhD holders at his miller Road residence in Kano.

His administration from 2011 to 2015 sponsored more than 1500 Kano indigenes to undergo MA degrees across the countries of the world and a number of them proceeded for their Ph.D. degrees.

In recent years there is no governor across the federation since 1999 that has achieved the feat of educating the children of the less privileged in Nigeria except Late Governor Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi of the second republic from 1979 to 1983.

The new 8 brand Ph.D. holders received by Kwankwaso according to a Kwankwasiyya media aide Ibrahim Adam Chocboi are

  1. Dr. Najaf Auwal from Fagge LG (Business Administration).
  2. Dr. Mustapha Balarabe Idris (Chemistry)
  3. Dr. Bashir Ibrahim

Linguistic (English).

  1. Dr. Nura Shanono

(Agricultural and Environmental Engineering).

  1. Dr. Zahradeen Getso

(Chemistry).

  1. Dr. Jibrin Yusuf Habib

(Zoology).

  1. Dr. Abdurrahman Abubakar Danbatta.
  2. Dr. Zahraddeen Kademi.

 

Most of the Ph.D. holders produced by the Kwankwasiyya government are currently teaching in Universities across Nigeria and some of them are presently pursuing career across the world

Bichi Foundation Settles Registration Fees for 3000 Students

The Kabir Abubakar Bichi Foundation, led by Honourable Member Representing Bichi Federal Constituency, has disbursed a total of N81,106,152.83 to cover the registration and tuition fees of over 3,000 students at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi.

According to a statement released on Monday by Zaharadden Bello, Secretary General of the Foundation, 513 undergraduate degree students received full session payments totaling N35,670,253.38.

Bello also disclosed that over 2,000 NCE students benefited from the foundation’s scholarship.

“We’ve disbursed over N35,670,253.38 as full session payments to 513 degree students.

“Additionally, we’ve covered the first-semester registration fees for 2,487 students, totaling N45,435,899.45,” the statement said.

This is not the first time the lawmaker has covered the registration fees for indigenous students of Bichi local government.

In August 2023, the lawmaker paid the registration fee for the second term for 2,299 students of NCE at the Federal College of Education Bichi.

Furthermore, in December 2023, he settled the registration fees for an additional 2,337 students of the college.

Federal Government Not Considering Any Foreign Military Base

The federal Government says its not considering any foreign military base in Nigeria.

Minister of information Muhammad Idris stated this in a press release issued to newsmen.

The statement reads as follows .

 

The Federal Government is aware of false alarms being raised in some quarters alleging discussions between the Federal Government of Nigeria and some foreign countries on the siting of foreign military bases in the country.

 

We urge the general public to totally disregard this falsehood.

The Federal Government is not in any such discussion with any foreign country. We have neither received nor are we considering any proposals from any country on the establishment of any foreign military bases in Nigeria.

The Nigerian government already enjoys foreign cooperation in tackling ongoing security challenges, and the President remains committed to deepening these partnerships, with the goal of achieving the national security objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Mega City: Gov. Yusuf Lays Foundation of 15 Billion Naira Inter Change Bridge in Kano

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has layed a N15 billion three layer Interchange bridge at Kofar Dan’agundi in Kano metropolis as part of vision to enhance traffic flow in the ancient city.

The governor who visited the project site on Sunday in company of some cabinet members, affirmed his administration’s eyesight to transform the city centre to status of a mega city.

Recall that Governor Yusuf in December, 2023, awarded the multi-billion naira project to CCG Nigeria Limited with completion period of eighteen months. The multiple projects was awarded along side another high impact interchange bridge at Talidu roundabout also in the city centre, to ease traffic congess.

“We have created fordable alternative routes and motorists are expected to comply with rules for safety and allow the project operation to run smoothly”

Gov. Abba Kabir also layed the foundation of a similar project at Tal’udu roundabout worth 12 billion naira which was initially awarded same time with three layer overpass, underpass and surface layer roads.

In a statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson Sanusi Bature, Infrastructure development is a critical area of the present administration where Gov. Yusuf allocate more resources apart from the education sector.

While responding after the foundation laying ceremony, The Project Manager CGC Nigeria Limited Mr. Gee Wang and the commissioner of works and housing Engr. Marwan Ahmad said in a saparate addresses that the project will be completed within the time frame.
