Archbishop of Canterbury Commends Governor Uba Sani for Fostering Peace in Kaduna
By Yusuf Danjuma Yunusa
The Archbishop of Canterbury, His Grace Justin Welby, praised Governor Uba Sani for fostering peace and stability in Kaduna State during a courtesy visit to the Government House on Saturday.
Welby, who last visited Kaduna in 2002—a period he recalled as marked by “deep ethno-religious tensions and recurrent crises”—noted the significant transformation under the current administration.
“The relative peace, unity, and stability in Kaduna State informed my visit today,” stated the Archbishop. He acknowledged the Governor’s efforts in advancing reconciliation and social cohesion and encouraged him to continue on this path.
In response, Governor Sani expressed gratitude for the visit and highlighted the success of the state’s “Kaduna Peace Model,” which prioritizes good governance, inclusion, and equitable development.
“Over the past two and a half years, this model has delivered tangible results,” Governor Sani affirmed. “We have recorded no ethno-religious crises since assuming office.”
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace through justice, dialogue, and equitable development across all communities.
