The forum while addressing the press

By Asile Abel Jos

Indeed plateau is under the siege of ethics cleansing through the instrumentality of religion, ethnicity and land grabbing.

This was made known by the leader of the former youth leaders Yakubu Ibrahim itse said over 20 villages in some parts of plateau more of Barkin Ladi Mangu and Bokkos in what seems to be a premeditated genocide against a peaceful and loving people, who had already started celebrating the Christmas could only be imagined. We are deeply pained that with several distress calls to the security agencies to avert or to halt the then ongoing massacre of plateau natives in the affected communities, the killings continued unabated.

We call on the plateau state government to synergize with the federal government to seeing to the implementation of plateau anti land grabbing law.

The New government at the federal state and local government to call a spade a spade and to ensure that those culprits be inentified and arrested and given the appropriate punishment

We appreciate the action and directive of the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for sending high powered delegation led by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other members of the federation to visit the state and we pray this visit will not be like the previous visits that ended up in mere condemnation.

May we remaind you that for many years now plateau natives have been brutally butchered in cold blood including our chief and traditional title holders.

We the forum of former youth leaders on the plateau wish to state that, plateau people have no place to run to they have no any other land to settle and claim. But the Fulani person who is more or less nomadic can come from, as far as Mali, Niger Republic and Chad and is allowed to graze and farm freely.

Published

By Salisu Baso

As the crisis erupted within Kano’s ruling party NNPP, with some members calling for the governor to stand independently, the Kano State House of Assembly has denied knowledge of any of its members being involved in the rifts.

The Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Lawan Hussain, representing Dala Constituency, revealed this to newsmen in an interview with journalists over the publication of an online newspaper, Daily Nigeria, stating that some members of the NNPP in the House have joined the factional crisis.

He described the news as a fabricated and mischievous story from unpatriotic elements planning to destroy the peace reigning within the party. He said that as far as the members of the House are concerned, there are no conflicts between the governor and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The Majority Leader therefore assured the party parliament members of their solid support for the leader of the Kwankwasiyya and state governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, adding that the governor considers Senator Kwankwaso his mentor.

On the issue of some party members calling for the governor to be independent (Tsaya da Kafar Ka), Hon. Dala said the governor is operating independently without interference from any person. He therefore accused some opposition politicians from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, of sponsoring unpatriotic people to ignite a crisis in the state with a view to disrupting the government’s development initiatives.
