The Kano State House of Assembly has urged Kano State Government to settle all the outstanding debt owed the club which amounts to N109 million.

The assembly made the call during Wednesday’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Chidari, after the presentation of a report by house committee on Youth and Sport.

The house set up the committee to investigate the relagation Kano Pillars football club from the Nigeria Professional Football League .

Presenting the report of the committee, Alhaji Nuradeen Ahmad, chairman house committee on Youth and Sport, called on the state government to make disbursement of Kano Pillars on quarterly bases rather than monthly, because monthly disbursement makes the club not readily available with cash at its coffers, unlike quarterly where they have cash readily available to use whenever need arises.

“The house called on the management of the club and stakeholders in the state to be united and be more prudent in managing its own generated revenues, so as to not to solely rely on state government subvention.

“The assembly also called on the state government to renovate Kano Pillars stadium in order to host matches and other tournaments.

“The house called on the state government to provide permanent offices and camp for the management of the club and also recruit experienced , competent and skillful players and coaches without compromising professionalism during recruitment.

Exclusive:Fresh Crisis Looms As Minister Submit Ten Year Football Master Plan Proposal To President Buhari

Strong indications have emerged that the Minister Of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare is hell bent on imposing the 10 years master plan recommendations  of an adhoc committee he set up months ago.

Last week Thursday, one of the most protracted NFF AGA took place in Lagos with incumbent NFF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick declaring he won’t run for another term in office .

In his recent interviews, Mr. Dare has admitted the NFF Congress is supreme in taking decisions as the congress is the legislative arm of the federation.

According to a key football stakeholder who doesn’t want his name in print said, the minister should have presented that proposal to the congress for delibration and approval during the recent AGA as that is the only legitimate and proper channel.

He further added that such plot  by the minister will amount to possible Fifa ban as the world football governing body will consider that as government interference.

The Minister has concluded all plans to submit the report to President Muhammadu Buhari by 10am tomorrow, 23rd August, 2022. It will be recalled that Mr. Sunday Dare toed the same path during Nigeria BasketBall Federation crisis which led to Federation of International Basketball, FIBA banning Nigeria from all International related competitions.

Gusau:When The Time Is Due

Ibrahim Musa Gusau

As the countdown to the forthcoming NFF elective congress in Benin  begins, it is now certain that Nigeria Football Federation will have a new  President to pilot the affairs of the nation’s football administration at least for the next four years.

After the much awaited AGA on Thursday, the 18th of August in Lagos, the coast now seems to be crystal clear on who fills in the vacuum to be left by  outgoing NFF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick as the Fifa council member finally winds down the curtain of his stewardship as the captain of the NFF ship  having served for eight years.

Mr. Pinnick’s public declaration not to seek for re-election has opened the door for suitors  jostling to succeed the Delta State born sports administrator.

At the moment,  a handful of aspirants have thrown in their hats on the ring but even among equals , Nigeria Football deserves the  best. However, talking about the best , one name surely rings a bell,  and that name is no any other than Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

A shrewd  civil servant who rose through the ranks to the position of Finance Director in his home state of Zamfara, Ibrahim Gusau has been within the  set up of Nigeria Football for decades. His vast experience as government official coupled with his down to earth attitude puts him aside the rest.

Nigeria And The Disposition Of Depreciation Of Appreciation

Gusau was first elected as the Chairman of Chairmen in 2014  under the Pinnick led  administration and got re-elected in 2018 out numbering  Senator Ifeanyi Ubah during the election  with a landslide victory to seal one of the most exalted positions in Nigeria football administration.

The  Zamfara State FA Chairman presently heads the security committee of the NFF.

His stellar performance as a serving board member of the NFF didn’t go unnoticed as Confederation Of African Football, CAF appointed him as a member of CHAN organising committee .  Furthermore, in the month of April, CAF also appointed him as member, Organizing Committee for Youth AFCON. A committee  saddled with the responsibility of organising AFCON U17, U20, and U23.

Ibrahim Gusau’s slate is clean as his name has never been enmeshed in  corruption allegation.  He is one man that possesses great qualities as he is personified by the three Cs, Courage, Character and Competence.

There is no doubt Gusau’s emerge as the next NFF President will calm the flaring nerves of some disgruntled stakeholders who feel sidelined and with this , there comes a new dawn in Nigeria Football .
