Governor Bala Disbursed Covid-19 Palliatives In ALKALERI, Calls For Fervent Prayer For The End Of Pandemic

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad has launched the distribution of covid-19 palliatives in Alkaleri Local Government Area, today.

Speaking during the disbursement, the Governor said the palliatives are meant to cushion the effect of corona virus pandemic which brought untold hardship to many households.

Represented by the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman, the Governor explained that so far the items are distributed to 14 local governments and will be extended to the remaining six local governments to cover the entire State.

According to him, the items comprised 6500 bags of maize, millet, corns and seasonings which he said cannot cover all people of Alkaleri Local Government but will be disbursed to the needy who are most hit by the pandemic.

Senator Bala Mohammad who said he is confident in the integrity and justice of the Palliative Committee which is under the leadership of eminent traditional rulers, urged the Palliative Committee of the Local Government to ensure the judicious distribution of the items and the beneficiaries to make good use of the items given to them.

The Governor urged the people of the State to pray fervently for the end of the pandemic which he said has ravaged the economy of the world.

“We should pray fervently so that the Government will get more funds to continue executing people oriented projects across the State in addition to the ones embarked upon by the Government.” He said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Bauchi State Covid-19 Palliative Committee who is also the Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu thanked Governor Bala Mohammad for his concern on the plight of the people of the State especially during the pandemic.

Represented by Chief Imam of Bauchi Sheikh Bala Ahmad Baban Inna, the Emir urged the Alkaleri Local Government Palliative Committee to judiciously distribute the items to the beneficiaries and warned them against diversion and injustice as the items are meant to be distributed to the needy only and no member of the committee should benefit from any item.

According to him, so far the palliative items are distributed in 14 local governments and so far the State Committee didn’t receive any complaint from the local governments, urging the Alkaleri Local Government Committee to follow suit.

In his remarks member representing Pali Constituency in Bauchi State House of Assembly Hon. Yusuf Muhammad Bako lamented how the covid-19 pandemic slowed down the massive transformation projects and initiatives of Governor Bala Mohammad due to its effect on the economy.

According to him, the corona virus pandemic that ravaged the world is one of the calamities that Almighty Allah test mankind.

“Governor Bala Mohammad came at a time when the pandemic affected the economy of the State.

“As member of the opposition party I want inform you that the Governor has never offend me even once because of his sense of fairness and justice.

“Former Governors of the State have benefited from various financial packages from the Federal Government since 1999 but Governor Bala has never benefited from any financial package from the Federal Government but still he is performing creditably well.

“We should therefore be just to Governor Bala Mohammad, the economy is in bad shape but still he is performing.

“I always wonder how the Governor manage the meagre resources we have to execute numerous projects he has embarked upon and still pay salaries at when due.

“We are solidly behind Governor Bala Mohammad for his giant strides and integrity.

“Alkaleri is united, we will support our son to go for second term like how we supported two previous Governors to spend 8 years on the the seat.

“We urge all people of Bauchi State to support Governor Bala Mohammad to spend eight years on the seat for more dividends of democracy.” Hon. Bako said.

Sultan of Sokoto Urges Nigerians to Stop Criticizing Leaders and Allow God to Deal With Them

Nigerians have been urged to desist from castigating their leaders and all those in authority.

This call was made to Nigerians by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III on Monday at the the Regional Conference on Climate Change-Induced Conflicts in Northern Nigeria hosted in Kaduna.

According to the Sultan, it is important that Nigerians rather than insult their leaders, they should allow God to really with them.

He also urgee Nigerians to contibue praying for their keaders and tne nation as a whole.

He further called on religious leadera accros Nigeria to quit misleadinh members of ghwir congregation.

“A lot of people say we have never had it so bad, but no matter how difficult it is, ease will come. We believe nothing lasts forever.

“Nothing bad and nothing good lasts forever. Let us intensify prayers in our congregations and encourage our followers to pray for our leaders.

“We will not castigate them; we will allow Almighty Allah to deal with them as He wishes and He will,” the Sultan notes.

Breaking: Court Drops Charges Against Minors

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday struck out the charges brought against a total of 119 #EndBadGovernance protesters.

All 119 protesters were arraigned on Friday, November 1 on charges bordering on Treason felony, inciting to mutiny, among others.

The defendants were arraigned in two batches at the previous proceeding.

The first batch comprised a total of 76 protesters which included 32 minors and the second batch a total of 43 protesters.

The trial judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, struck out the suit following an application by the counsel to the Attorney General of the Federation, M. D Abubakar, to take over and discontinue the matter.
