Kano Explosion: Igbo leaders beg  residents to remain calm, shun rumor mongers

Igbo leaders  under the aegis of Igbo Community Association, ICA Kano, on Tuesday  has appealed  for restraints, in the aftermath of the explosion that rocked a residential building located at  Aba by  court road,in Sabon Gari axis of the ancient city of Kano.

The President General , ICA Kano, Donatus Nwugo in a chat with  our reporter  at the scene of the incident urged residents to remain calm in the face of daunting challenges  invoked  courtesy of the explosion.

According to him, relevant government agencies are vigilant and were on  top of the situation, while urging residents to go about their businesses with our fear.

In his words “ we are appealing to our people and all those conducting their  activities in the city of Kano to please go about their business in peace.

“we ask them to shun fear, panic, or any moves that is targeted  to cause panic,  they should go about their activities with our fear.”

Nwugo reassured that traditional rulers, the ICA  in conjunction with all critical stakeholders  are working in a coordinated manner to ensure peace continue to reign across the ancient city.

He applaud the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the prompt response that was given to the unfortunate incidence that occurred in Sabon Gari, in the early hours of Thursday.

 

“our traditional ruler , Igwe Boniface Ibekwe as usual  has risen to the challenge to make sure all that needs to be done has been done, we are working with all other traditional leader to make sure all  issues are addressed squarely .

He applaud security agencies and their egg heads, alongside emergency relief service providers for their sacrifices

“our security agencies were timely in their response  and were highly professional in how they handled the situation today at Aba road by Court road, they  should be commended.

“in all we must warmly thank Kano state government under the leadership of governor Abdullahi  Umar Ganduje, and his deputy, Naisru Gawuna, who strongly stood by us in our hard moments.

He further urged Ndi-Igbo to refute any form of incitement, rumor mongering,  fake news and nefarious attempts to spread cheap rumor and blackmail to usurp public peace ,stressing that security agencies will continue to furnish the populace with relevant information on developments surrounding  the explosion..

The Igbo community leader prayed that God will grant repose to the soul of those who loss their lives in the Thursday explosion and grant their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable  loss.

Sultan of Sokoto Urges Nigerians to Stop Criticizing Leaders and Allow God to Deal With Them

Nigerians have been urged to desist from castigating their leaders and all those in authority.

This call was made to Nigerians by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III on Monday at the the Regional Conference on Climate Change-Induced Conflicts in Northern Nigeria hosted in Kaduna.

According to the Sultan, it is important that Nigerians rather than insult their leaders, they should allow God to really with them.

He also urgee Nigerians to contibue praying for their keaders and tne nation as a whole.

He further called on religious leadera accros Nigeria to quit misleadinh members of ghwir congregation.

“A lot of people say we have never had it so bad, but no matter how difficult it is, ease will come. We believe nothing lasts forever.

“Nothing bad and nothing good lasts forever. Let us intensify prayers in our congregations and encourage our followers to pray for our leaders.

“We will not castigate them; we will allow Almighty Allah to deal with them as He wishes and He will,” the Sultan notes.

Breaking: Court Drops Charges Against Minors

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday struck out the charges brought against a total of 119 #EndBadGovernance protesters.

All 119 protesters were arraigned on Friday, November 1 on charges bordering on Treason felony, inciting to mutiny, among others.

#

The defendants were arraigned in two batches at the previous proceeding.

The first batch comprised a total of 76 protesters which included 32 minors and the second batch a total of 43 protesters.

The trial judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, struck out the suit following an application by the counsel to the Attorney General of the Federation, M. D Abubakar, to take over and discontinue the matter.
