The Etsu Nupe in Niger state Dr. Yahaya Abubakar on Tuesday received the emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in his continued familiarization visit to monarchs across the federation.

To make the historic visit more colorful and attractive, a mini durbar was organized by the Nupe emirate in honor of their August visitor, the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

The Nupe community received the Emir with an open hand as they demonstrated their love and affection to him as well as cheering in a jubilation mood where ever he passed through.

While at the palace, the chief host who doubles as Etsu of Nupe land Dr Yahaya Abubakar described the visit as one of the most historic, unique, and remain ever in the minds of the Nupe community.

The Etsu Nupe narrated the long-existing cordial ties between the two Emirates and pledged to do everything possible within his allotted power to make the relationship wax stronger.

The Etsu Nupe Dr Yahaya Abubakar used the medium in congratulating the visitor and advised him to apply his vast experience in reviving the lost glory of traditional institutions especially in the northern part of the country.

Earlier, the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero expressed delight with the way and manner he was received by his host, particularly the Etsu of Nupe Brigadier General Dr. Yahaya Abubakar.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said the familiarization tour was earlier scheduled but can not to make it as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Emir has solicited the support and cooperation from the entire emirs in the northern region and country at large so as to attained objectives of resuscitating the Traditional institutions.

During the visit, the Kano monarch was accompanied by some of the Emirate’s council members and the Chief of Staff to the Emirate who doubles as the sarkin Dawakin Tsakar gida Alhaji Ahmad Ado Bayero among other Traditional title holders.

Barau Jibrin Drives Grassroots Empowerment with 47 Vehicles, 287 Motorcycles in Kano North

The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has distributed 47 vehicles and 287 motorcycles to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the Kano North Senatorial District as part of efforts to support grassroots empowerment.

The beneficiaries include APC local government chairmen, their secretaries and other party stakeholders in the district.

Barau, who spoke through the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Salihu Sagir Takai, said the intervention was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said the vehicles and motorcycles were meant to ease economic hardship and improve the livelihoods of the beneficiaries.

According to him, the initiative is part of his continued interventions in human and capital development in Kano North, adding that more programmes would follow.

“This is not the first time we are carrying out such an intervention, and it will certainly not be the last,” he said.

The Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdullahi, described the gesture as a capital-intensive intervention aimed at lifting beneficiaries out of poverty and promoting self-reliance.

He said Kano North was fortunate to have a leader committed to initiatives that stimulate development and improve living standards.

Abdullahi also urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them productively to generate income.

Similarly, Barau’s media aide, Shittu Madaki, said the items were carefully distributed to selected beneficiaries, noting that more empowerment programmes were in the pipeline.

Also speaking, Takai, a former governorship candidate in Kano State, said the intervention reflects the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots level, aimed at reducing poverty and improving the welfare of constituents.

A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Emerging Progressives Leaders’ Forum (EPLF), has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for what it described as a bold and strategic move in selecting Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor.
