Group passes vote of confidence on Governor mutfwang

A Group under the auspices of Plateau Support Network has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State.

The position of the Group was made known on during a press briefing on solidarity walk in support of the governor.

Reading the text, the convener of Plateau Support Network, Comrade Shokshak Shikse stated the decision to pass a vote of confidence became imperative taking into account that Governor Mutfwang in justifying the mandate given to him, and being cognizant of the dreams, hopes and aspirations of his people immediately swung to the onerous action of governance.

“Within months after his inauguration, his administration through the agency God’s will and the support and partnership of relevant bodies, made tangible progress in providing security, roads and amenities, human capital development among other developmental strides”.

The Group whose members cut across the 17 local government areas of Plateau noted that Mutfwang’s passion for fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among various demographics in the state has equally not been unnoticed by all.

“Indeed, the people of Plateau have, within a short space of time witnessed the dividends of exemplary leadership, a quality which the state has been looking forward to see for many years.

“These, and much more are the reasons the PLATEAU SUPPORT NETWORK and indeed responsible citizens of the state have gathered here to express our unequivocal, unalloyed and resounding support and vote of confidence for His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and “THE TIME IS NOW” administration, through this solidarity walk.

“We believe that the works of faithful public servants of his ilk leave legacies that will positively affect the lives of generations yet unborn, as is evident the civilizations of history.

“Patriots who live and work through the empowerment of moral rectitude and an acute sense of service leave the hallmarks of joy and peace in the lives of the people, who have reposed their trust in them. This, is the consistent path of this administration, as is evident for all to see”.

The Group however observed with disenchantment recent events at the Appeal Court which it said has left a lot to be desired adding that the popular will of the peace loving people of Plateau State as expressed at the polls on the 18th day of March 2023 is under a looming threat.

“We only ask that the courts recognize and respect the mandate given by the people to this administration, and strictly adhere to the provisions of the constitution regarding the process of its judgments at the petitions tribunal”

Plateau Support Network further stated that it had faith in the hallowed chambers of the Judiciary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria believing that her worthy Judges will execute temperance and an unwavering sense of justice while hearing and judging the elections petition case at the supreme court, God helping them.

“The people of Plateau State will hold on to their witness of our dear state rising out of the ashes of gross mal-governance, and our strong faith in the action administration of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, to the glory of God”, the Group said.

Other members of the Group, Umar Yanis and Hajiya Nasifatu Sale Yakubu who also spoke to journalists said that it became necessary to abandoned other engagement for the solidarity walk to demonstrate their total and unalloyed support to the “Time Is Now”administration.

“Over the years, we have been yearning for peace in Plateau State and God answered our prayers and gave us Barr. Caleb Mutfwang as governor.

“He is a man of peace and has been pursuing peaceful ventures ever since he came into office. He does not discriminates or segregates. He loves Muslims and Christians and aethiests.

“He has also demonstrated his desire, willingness and commitment to transform Plateau State as envident in the projects he has embarked on. What else does a poor man wants

Gov. Yusuf accuses opposition parties of fueling political crisis in Kano metropolis

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has accused actors in the opposition parties of fueling civic unrest and political instability in Kano.

Governor Yusuf pointed the accusing fingers while briefing journalists during the State Executive Council Meeting Wednesday, vowed to deploy drastic measures necessary to nip the resurgence of thuggery in the bud.

The Governor’s reaction follows the recent bloody crisis between some suspected political thugs who unleashed terror on another gang of politicians.

In a statement by Spokesperson of the Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, Governor Yusuf revealed that intelligence brief abreast with after the state security council held Tuesday clearly exposed the atrocities of those sponsoring unrest in Kano.

According to the statement, the Governor posited the elements in the opposition, who are not comfortable with the steady development, peace and stability in the state, embedded to provoke needless crisis.

Gov. Yusuf however reassured determination of his administration to confront the challenges with equal force, insisted government would not henceforth, tolerate attempt by any elements to frustrate the enduring peace and tranquility in the state.

In the release, Governor Yusuf assured the resolution of the government to work with all the security agencies in the state to checkmate the excesses of the criminal minded elements being sponsored to cause problem.

Governor Yusuf will soon reopen the state own Reformatory Centre, at Kiru local government area as part of measures to rehabilitate and control drug abuse in the state.

During the Wednesday council meeting, the Governor also brief plans to inaugurate the newly constituted 46 of Shura Consultative Council compose of renowned Islamic Scholars, members of the academia, and other stakeholders.

To check unemployment, the Governor is determined to roll massive youth empowerment initiatives in the coming year to ensure that a significant per cent of the youth become self’relient.

President Tinubu Arrives In Lagos Ahead Of Christmas Holiday

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos from Abuja ahead of the Christmas celebrations.

The President was received at the airport by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, along with other state officials.

He is expected to proceed to his private residence in the state.

His arrival follows the presentation of the 2025 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

He described it as the “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity.” The proposal, he explained, is aimed at stabilizing the economy, fostering an equitable business environment, and promoting inclusive growth.

Kano Approves 1st Term Vacation Date

Kano State Government has approved Friday 20th and Saturday 21st Dec. 2024 as the date for the commencement of 1st term vacation to all Day and Boarding Public/Private Primary and Post Primary Schools in the state.

Therefore, Parents/ Guardians of Pupils and Students in the Boarding schools are to convey their wards home by the early hours of Saturday 21st Dec. 2024.

A statement by the Director Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Education Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru explained that Boarding Schools Pupils and Students are to resume back to their respective Schools on Sunday 5th January 2025 while the Day Students are to resume on Monday 6th January 2025.

The statement however quoted the Commissioner of the Ministry Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda urging Parents/Guardians of Pupils and Students of the schools to ensure total compliance with resumption dates.

The statement further warned that appropriate Disciplinary Action would be taken against defaulting Students

It appreciated the cooperation and support given to the ministry and wished the Students and Pupils successful and hitch free holiday.
