PDP Governors Forum Donates 100 million Naira To Plateau victims of attack

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors forum has condoled with governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State over ongoing killings in the state.

The governor’s forum was led by the governor of Bauchi State Sen Bala Mohammed, who is Chairman of the forum.

Bala Mohammed noted that “the crisis are unfortunate, but we urged you (Mutfwang) to remain focus.”

“Federal  Government should create state police to enable us governors own our security of our states to deal with the situation.”

Earlier, while presenting the forum’s condolence massage, to governor Mutfwang, the Bauchi State governor encouraged his colleague to be strong, assuring him that they are with him in the travails.

“We are here to condole with you, we will continue to support you. We urged you to be strong. We understand the pains you are going through.”

Responding governor Caleb Mutfwang appreciated his counterparts for the show of concern to the State during it moment of grieve.

Governor Mutfwang said the insecurity situation in Nigeria have become national challenge that should be dealt with collectively.

“The ongoing insecurities is now a national threat; the neglect of Federal government in the past administration handling insecurity issues with kid gloves degenerated to what we are having today across the States. Mutfwang lament.

Governor Mutfwang noted that the entire Plateau state is deeply grateful for the solidarity shown “Your presence has encouraged us as a people, we will ever remain grateful.”

One Voice Development initiative, a non-governmental organization, seeks God’s intervention for the release of DCP Abba Kyari.

One of the leading prayer warriors, Musa Buhari, said there is nothing that overpowers our Creator and, as such, the need to seek Allah’s help in ensuring the timely release of Abba Kyari.

Abbas Abdullahi Yakasai, the convener of the group, urges President Tinubu to use every legal means available to release Kyari.

Yakasai said Kyari’s service is needed most at this trying moment of Nigeria’s history, due to insecurity spreading in many parts of Nigeria.

Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, has approved a new N70,000 minimum wage for the state’s civil servants.

The governor made the announcement while commissioning Edo state’s new Labour House on Monday, April 29.

According to him, the anticipated minimum wage will come into effect on May 1st, 2024.

Commission of inquiry to hold inaugural sitting Monday

The judicial commission of inquiry on public properties and assets established by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to probe the previous administration led by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has scheduled its inaugural session for Monday, 29th April 2024.

The commission’s secretary, Salisu Mustapha, said this in a letter addressed to the Director General Media and Publicity on Saturday.

Mustapha specified that the session will take place at High Court No. 3 within the Audu Bako Secretariat on Monday 29th April, 2024 by 10.am prompt.

Earlier this month, Governor Yusuf inaugurated two judicial commissions of inquiry (JCI) to investigate instances of misappropriation of public properties and assets, political violence, and missing persons between 2015 and 2023.

During the inauguration of the JCI members, Governor Yusuf pledged to hold accountable anyone found culpable, emphasizing his commitment to uncovering and prosecuting those responsible for political violence in the state before and during previous elections.

The governor urged the Commission to thoroughly investigate cases of misappropriated public properties and assets during the tenure of immediate past administration.

He instructed the commission members to uphold their integrity, remain true to their oath, and serve the people of Kano State by ensuring justice is served. Governor Yusuf clarified that the initiative was not politically motivated or directed at any individual but rather a response to the mandate of the people of Kano State.

You may recall that Justices of the State High Courts, Farouq Lawan Adamu and Zuwaira Yusuf a long with other eminent personalities were selected and appointed as chairmen and members of the two commissions of inquiry respectively.
