Adopt legal Means of expressing Grievances -Emir Bayero told #ENDSARS Protesters

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has called on ENDSARS protesters to adopt legal ways of airing their grievances rather than vandalising public properties.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero was speaking on Friday during a special prayer session for peace to reign supreme in the country.

The current ENDSARS protest happening in some states that resulted to the loss of lives and properties, special prayer session was organized by Kano Emirate council held at the state central mosque ..

The Emir who lamented on how some of the protesters have taken laws into their hands, urged them to be orderly for a better Nigeria.

Emir Bayero described youths as backbone of every development hence cautioned them on the dangers behind taking part in unwanted actions.

He directed Imams, ulamas as well as good people of Kano to intensify prayers for Allah’s intervention for socio-economics challenges threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria to subside.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero used the occasion in applauding both federal and states governments for taking necessary measures with a view to bringing the situation under control.

During the religious gathering, clerics observed prayers and supplications for peace and stability in Kano and the country at large.

One Voice Development initiative, a non-governmental organization, seeks God’s intervention for the release of DCP Abba Kyari.

The payer session organized by the group was held in Kano

One of the leading prayer warriors, Musa Buhari, said there is nothing that overpowers our Creator and, as such, the need to seek Allah’s help in ensuring the timely release of Abba Kyari.

Abbas Abdullahi Yakasai, the convener of the group, urges President Tinubu to use every legal means available to release Kyari.

Yakasai said Kyari’s service is needed most at this trying moment of Nigeria’s history, due to insecurity spreading in many parts of Nigeria.

Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, has approved a new N70,000 minimum wage for the state’s civil servants.

The governor made the announcement while commissioning Edo state’s new Labour House on Monday, April 29.

According to him, the anticipated minimum wage will come into effect on May 1st, 2024.

Commission of inquiry to hold inaugural sitting Monday

The judicial commission of inquiry on public properties and assets established by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to probe the previous administration led by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has scheduled its inaugural session for Monday, 29th April 2024.

The commission’s secretary, Salisu Mustapha, said this in a letter addressed to the Director General Media and Publicity on Saturday.

Mustapha specified that the session will take place at High Court No. 3 within the Audu Bako Secretariat on Monday 29th April, 2024 by 10.am prompt.

Earlier this month, Governor Yusuf inaugurated two judicial commissions of inquiry (JCI) to investigate instances of misappropriation of public properties and assets, political violence, and missing persons between 2015 and 2023.

During the inauguration of the JCI members, Governor Yusuf pledged to hold accountable anyone found culpable, emphasizing his commitment to uncovering and prosecuting those responsible for political violence in the state before and during previous elections.

The governor urged the Commission to thoroughly investigate cases of misappropriated public properties and assets during the tenure of immediate past administration.

He instructed the commission members to uphold their integrity, remain true to their oath, and serve the people of Kano State by ensuring justice is served. Governor Yusuf clarified that the initiative was not politically motivated or directed at any individual but rather a response to the mandate of the people of Kano State.

You may recall that Justices of the State High Courts, Farouq Lawan Adamu and Zuwaira Yusuf a long with other eminent personalities were selected and appointed as chairmen and members of the two commissions of inquiry respectively.
