Speaker Bauchi Assembly Provides Transformer to End Three Years Of Darkness

There was mild jubilation in Maje town headquarters of Guda Ward in Ningi Local Government Area after Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi) provided a 33KVA transformer to restore electricity in the community, after three years of darkness.

 

There was almost a comatose in the town as youth and residents trooped out to witness the installation of the transformer which was brought to the town yesterday.

Speaking to the members of the community who came out en masse eulogizing Speaker Dangaladima,  the Speaker who spoke through his Chief of Staff to Alhaji Musa Bako Ningi said the provision of the transformer is a dream that came true because he has for long,  even before he contests the election, is struggling to restore electricity in the area.

 

Alhaji Musa Bako added that the Speaker will continue to bring more developments especially in the areas of infrastructure, human development, and education, saying this is just a tip of an iceberg.

 

In his speech, Village Head of Guda Alhaji Abdu Gambo expressed the appreciation of the community to the Speaker for coming to their aid when there hope to see light again was almost lost.

He added that the gesture of the Speaker has deeply touched the hearts of the people of the area and they will reciprocate the gesture by praying and supporting the Speaker.

 

Also Speaking, Chiroman Guda Alhaji Haruna Abdu expressed the gratitude of the people of Maje to the Speaker who he described as a true and patriotic son of the soil.

 

He narrated how their transformer that gets spoiled put them in darkness for more than three years despite their efforts to reach the previous governments and many politicians to come to their aid to no avail.

 

Abdul Burra the speaker’s spokesperson quoted  Babaji Matashi, saying the people of Maje will remain grateful and prayerful to the Speaker for his many interventions in the area.

Fubara’s Whereabouts Unknown As Military Moves Trucks Into Rivers Govt House

The movement of Governor Siminalayi Fubara was unknown on Tuesday night when the military moved trucks into Rivers Government House in Port Harcourt.

The trucks were placed within and outside the Government House on the first night of the State of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu declared emergency rule amid the attacks on oil installations in Rivers State.

Some militants groups had threatened to blow up pipelines if the Rivers House of Assembly impeach Fubara.

However, hours after the lawmakers served the governor with notice of alleged misconduct, the militants carried out their threat.

Breaking :President Bola Tinubu has declared a state of emergency in Rivers state,Removes Democratic Structures

The president made the announcement on Tuesday in a nationwide broadcast over the political crisis and instability in the state.

Tinubu said Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state; his deputy, Ngozi Odu; and all members of the Rivers assembly are “hereby suspended for an initial period of six months”.

“Having soberly reflected on and evaluated the political situation in Rivers State and the Governor and Deputy Governor of Rivers State having failed to make a request to me as President to issue this proclamation as required by section 305(5) of the 1999 Constitution as amended, it has become inevitably compelling for me to invoke the provision of section 305 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State with effect from today, 18th March, 2025 and I so do,” the president said.

Tinubu meets with service chiefs in Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a high-level meeting with the service chiefs at the State House.

Among those in attendance are Christopher Musa, chief of defence staff; Olufemi Oluyede, chief of army staff; Emmanuel Ogalla, chief of naval staff; Hassan Abubakar, chief of air staff; and Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police.
