Warri/Kaduna Refinery: NNPC Ltd Targets Sustained Production with New Maintenance & Compliance Measures

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd, is set to ensure sustained production and enhance refining quality at its Warri and Kaduna plants.

The global energy player will also be adopting new maintenance and compliance measures, as well as deploying cutting-edge technology solutions.

These, according to the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, CCCO, of NNPC Ltd, Olufemi Soneye, are just a few among the sustainable and profit-driven measures being engaged by the firm.

According to him, the company is seeking a short and long term Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services contract for the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) and Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC).

The scope of work for the O&M “shall cover, but will not be limited to, the following:
• Long-term and short-term production/operations planning
• Production and operations execution
• Monitoring, reporting, and optimization of operations
• Maintenance planning (short term)
• Maintenance execution
• Reliability and inspection
• Process and control engineering
• Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Laboratory
• Specialist engineering
• Health and Safety
• Environmental management
• Turnaround maintenance planning and execution
• Minor projects
• Non-hydrocarbon Procurement
• Sub-contractor management
• Inventory and warehouse management.”

On the key objectives of the O&M services for WRPC and KRPC, Soneye said:
“One of the objectives is to ensure and guarantee steady and sustained refining production while adhering to the best maintenance and regulatory compliance ethics at the minimum cost of refining and production per barrels.”

Regarding the tender procedure for the O&M services and how it will be conducted, the spokesman disclosed that “there will be a three (3) stage tender process viz:
– Expression of Interest
– Technical and
– Commercial.”

He also disclosed that the O&M is expected “to improve on our refining process that guarantees quality through the application of the latest technology including Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), Warehousing Management System (WMS).”

He said the specific activities included under the production and operations execution within the O&M contract “consists of the Scope of O&M Services covering all refining areas within the plans including reined products from different slats covering: MIXED LPG, PMS, HHK, ATK, AGO & LPFO.”

The Nigerian Democracy Working Group has praised the Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi, for his commitment to conducting inclusive and transparent local government elections in the state

The Democracy Working Group, comprising civil society organizations, academics, and activists across Nigeria, has closely monitored KANSIEC’s efforts. They specifically lauded Prof. Malumfashi’s compliance with a recent court ruling from Abuja, which ordered the reduction of nomination form fees for candidates. This move was seen as a vital step towards promoting fairness and inclusivity in the election process.

In addition, the group’s convener, Dr. Vincent Okpara Innocent, highlighted Prof. Malumfashi’s outreach to opposition parties, ensuring that all political entities participate in the elections. The commission’s open dialogue and transparent policies were described as model practices for other states to follow.

The group expressed confidence in the Chairman’s leadership and commitment to democracy, emphasizing that KANSIEC’s inclusive approach would lead to credible and widely accepted elections. Prof. Malumfashi’s experience, having managed similar elections before, was seen as a key factor in the process.

Dr. Okpara Innocent concluded the statement by pledging the group’s support to KANSIEC and wishing Prof. Malumfashi and his team success in conducting fair and peaceful elections in Kano State.

Professor Gwarzo Congratulates PR Guru Yushau Shuaib on Son’s Wedding

The President of MAAUN Group of Universities Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has congratulated PR guru Yushau Shuaib on the wedding of his Son Saad Yushau and Maryam Aminu Gwadabe the daughter of the Chairman of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria Muhammad Aminu Gwadabe.

Professor Gwarzo who was in Lagos on Saturday attended the wedding which took place at the Syrian Mosque, in Victoria Ireland.

He was accompanied by his Executive Assistant and Manager of PRNigeria Centre Adnan Mukhtar, Chief Executive Officer of FORTE GCC Innovative Solutions Limited Engineer Khalil Sagir Koki and Muntasir Hassan Imam.

The marriage ceremony, which took place was solemnized in the presence of several notable media figures, including a former NGE General Secretary, Hakeem Bello, the Editor, of Saturday Tribune, Dr. Lasisi Olagunju and a celebrated columnist, Barr. Festus Adedayo.

Just In:Kano Shifts Schools Resumption Date

Kano State Government has shifted resumption date for all day public/private primary and post-primary schools in the state to Tuesday 17th September, 2024.

While pupils and students in boarding schools across the state will resume on Monday 16th September, 2024.

A statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru quoted the state Commissioner of Education Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa explaining that the adjustment follows declaration of 16th Sept, 2024 as public holiday to celebrate Eid-el Maulud.

” The adjustment is therefore to allow students to celebrate this holy date which marks the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

” While congratulating Muslim ummah, I wish to call on them to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and patriotism and continue to pray for the state and nation at large ” he said.

The statement therefore urges parents/guardians of students to take note of the new resumption date to ensure complete compliance

It wished both students, pupils, and their teachers a successful Maulud celebration and new academic session.
