Civil Society Groups Urge FG to Address Public Grievances Amid Planned Protests

Civil society organizations have called on the Nigerian Federal Government to heed the concerns of its citizens and address the growing economic hardships, urging protesters to shelve their plans to demonstrate.

The plea was made during a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Kano council by Adeyemi Aremu from the Civil Society Organization for Conflict Resolution in Nigeria, alongside Comrade Marafa Garba of the Wazobia Conflict Resolution and Peace Advocacy Initiatives.

“We have heard that some individuals plan to use the protests to foment trouble,” said Aremu. “Life is becoming very difficult for people. People are hungry, and they should be given a chance to voice their concerns peacefully.”

Garba emphasized the role of their organizations as professional conflict resolution managers, highlighting the widespread belief among Nigerians that they are suffering from economic challenges. “Nigerians believe there is suffering from here and there. Properties acquired meaningfully could be destroyed if unrest ensues,” he warned.

The groups are actively working to engage with the federal government, aiming to present the grievances of the populace directly. “We are working on the ground to meet with the federal government and table our concerns before them,” Aremu stated. “We will go back to our communities and live peacefully, but we must tell the President the truth—the pain is on us.”

As they continue to consult with authorities, the organizations stress the importance of addressing public grievances to prevent further escalation and ensure the well-being of the Nigerian people.

You’re Not Doing Enough For The Youth – Adnan Blasts PDP Youth Leader

Comrade Adnan Tudunwada

A former Kano House of Assembly Aspirant in the 2023 General election Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada has blasted the PDP National Youth Leader Muhammad Kadade for not doing enough opposition in the country.

He said this in a statement he issued to newsmen at PRNigera Centre Abuja.

Mr. Mukhtar described the youth leader as not doing the job he is elected for, especially mobilisation and carrying young people along in the country.

He lamented how Mr. Kadade failed to organise a mobilisation tour for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, despite repeated calls on him to do so by the party youth leaders.

“A Youth Leader is a strong member of the party’s National Working Committee because he represents the entire young people who are members of the party but have you ever seen him holding meetings with Youth groups other than posing for pictures with the VIP’s?

The Youth Wing is a strategic arm of the party looking at the significant role young people played in every election.

Even though I have access to him, the youth leader has failed to listen to almost everybody who will call him to order.

Look at what is happening in the country, the SDP issues, the hardships and everything but he decided to remain silent because of Nyesome Wike who is an enemy of the party working tirelessly for President Tinubu to destroy opposition in the country.

We heard it from a reliable source that he is not loyal to the party but an individual, Nyesome Wike, who is doing everything possible to destroy our great party.

I’m calling on the young man that it is not too late, he should start doing the right thing as Youth Wing of the party is very weak courtesy of his lackadaisical attitude towards young people. ”

Mr. Adnan, who is also a university lecturer and public relations practitioner, called on the entire young people in the country to come together and unite themselves out patriotism by supporting any cause that will salvage this country
