Stolen Deputy Governor’s Convoy Hilux Recovered — Police Arrest Suspect
The Office of the Deputy Governor of Kano State wishes to confirm that the Toyota Hilux vehicle recently stolen has been successfully recovered by the Police.
According to a report received from the Police, the vehicle was traced and recovered in the early hours of Wednesday following a swift and coordinated operation by security operatives.
A suspect, who serves as a permanent and pensionable driver, has been arrested in connection with the theft and is currently assisting the Police in their ongoing investigation.
The Deputy Governor’s Office commends the prompt response and professionalism displayed by the Police and other security agencies involved in the recovery effort.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Office categorically clarified that the incident was a clear breach of trust by the arrested driver.
“The general public is hereby advised to remain calm and rest assured that the security of lives and property remains the top priority of the Kano State Government, both within and outside the Government House,” the statement added.

Abba Kabir Yusuf led administration’ placed high premium on Health Care Services–Waiya
The Kano State Government has reiterated its strong commitment towards enhancing healthcare services, with particular attention to child nutrition and welfare which is the bedrock for child development
The Commissioner for Information, and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya stated this during a community sensitization campaign on exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a child’s life, which was held in Dokasoye Primary Health Center in Garun Malam Local Government Area in a statement issued by Salisu Kassim,Zonal Information Officer,Tudun Wada Zone which was made available to newsmen.
The Commissioner represented by the Director of Planning in the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Hussaini, identified that the campaign was organized to enlighten parents, community leaders, and civil society organizations and other relevant stakeholders on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and to encourage for active participation in promoting the initiative.
He further stated that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has invested heavily in healthcare services,ensuring better access services by the general public.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman of Garun Malam Local Government Council, Barrister Salisu Kadawa, represented by the Council Secretary, Jamila Uba Mustapha, expressed delight that the state government selected the area to host such an event.
He pledged the council’s cooperation and support toward the success of the program.
Also speaking, Mrs. Aisha, representative of the State Ministry of Health and an officer in charge of Human Nutrition, delivered a detailed lecture on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding from the first six months of life.
She emphasized that proper breastfeeding ensures strong immunity and overall health being and growth of infants.
In his remarks, the District Head of Garun Malam, Sarkin Fulani Jaidanawa, Alhaji Abubakar Gwadabe, represented by the Village Head of Dagasoye, Dandano Ibrahim Yada Kwari, called on local leaders, community heads, and religious leaders to support government initiatives aimed at improving child health and nutrition.
The event was attended by notable personalities including the representative of the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Sadiq, the Spokesperson of the Councilors, Aliyu Abdulhamid, and the Head of Personnel Management of Garun Malam Local Government, Alhaji Umar Kura

Mohammed Badaru, minister of defence, says the federal government and military leadership will safeguard all soldiers engaged in lawful duties.
Badaru made the remark on Wednesday in Abuja during a ministerial press briefing ahead of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
