According to him, the councils have now become shadow of their former selves because the state government had blocked their statutory allocations.

Mr Sharada alleged that the state government had introduced what he called “stabilization account”, where the Local Governments’ allocations are diverted and used for political activities.

He said if he become the governor of the state, he would ensure Local Governments authorities are getting their federal allocations in a bid to execute projects, which would help in reducing poverty in the state.

Mr Sharada, who is member, representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, also promised to establish Primary Healthcare Centres in each ward of the 44 Local Government areas of the state.

“Although is not time for campaign, but we know you are left with no option than to go to public hospitals which are in a sorry state.

“We will make sure we provide modern PHCs in all the 484 wards across 44 Local Government areas.

“We will also ensure Local Government autonomy. We know how Local Governments used to be a place of activities. Everybody is busy, but now our LGAs had been made like bush.

“Public money are being siphoned by this government into what it described as stabilization account. This money is LGAs money, but the government had made them for its personal use. The money is used for political activities.

“This is stealing and this is oppression. When we come on board, we will change this,” he alleged.

Mr Sharada, who is the Chairman House Committee on Internal Security, said ADP, though it is new, is enjoying massive support in Kano.

“In a few months, look at the massive support this party is enjoying. I am thrilled by the this huge crowd. I am elated by this massive support. Thank you everyone and we will not disappoint you,” Mr Sharada assured.

He also promised to develop education sector in the state, saying, “the logo of our great party, which is a book, means we will reposition education sector in Kano. We will put in place, a robust and standard education system for our teeming youths to become productive in their future.”
