President Muhammad Buhari

By Professor Yusuf Adamu

Yes Mr. President, Enough is enough
Because you don’t seem to be yourself
A total stranger to Nigerians who voted for you
Not the man we thought will deliver the nation
Enough is enough, Mr. President
Because your favourite ASUU is black painted
You don’t seem to know what is going on
Mr. President, we are the same ASUU of pre-2015
We are those patriots who care for this nation
We are still the light of the nation
We are not the agents of darkness.

Yes, Mr. President, enough is enough
Enough is enough because it is enough
It is enough because we too are tired
Tired of always closing our classrooms
Just to remind the government of its job
Tired of making sacrifices for the nation
Tired of being accused and abused
Tired of being punished for saving education
Tired of being starved for insisting on truth
Tired of being disgraced by governments
Tired of insisting in saving Nigerian universities

Mr. President, enough is enough
Because we have not come this far to give up
If you want to students to go back to school
Be informed on how far we have come so far
Get the facts, the truth and the reality
Come back to the world Nigerians are living in
Mr. President, be yourself, the real you
We know who you were and what that meant
When you become you, strikes will be history
We look forward to meeting people’s president.
The one we voted in 2015, Yes, Mr. President

Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,APC National Chairman

The executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dawakin Tofa Local Government and the Ganduje Ward Executive Committee members in Kano State have reacted to the purported suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from the ruling party.

The executives in a joint statement signed by Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, Chairman of APC Ganduje Ward said the purported suspension of the National Chairman of the party, was announced by non-APC members in the ward.

Addressing a press conference in Kano on behalf of the Ward and Local Government Executive Committee Members, he said: “Those who addressed the press conference were sponsored by the NNPP state government, and from the record of the Party at the Ward, Local Government and State, they are not card- carrying members of the APC.

He therefore said the purported suspension was null and void and would have no effect on the National Chairman.

“The Ward and Local Government Executives, having identified the persons involved in this unfortunate situation, have already prepared to charge them to court for impersonation and calculated attempts to embarrass and dent the image of the Party and that of the National Chairman”.

He called on all Party members to disregard the purported suspension and remain calm.

It could be recalled that Malam Haladu Gwanjo, who claimed to be the Legal Adviser of APC in Ganduje Ward, had earlier announced the purported suspension of the party’s national chairman.

Gwanjo, who cited alleged corruption and other vices as reasons for the suspension, said that the decision was taken by nine executive members of party in Ganduje ward

KANO, Nigeria  – The One Voice Development Initiative has called for the immediate release of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, praising his distinguished service and condemning what they perceive as unjust incarceration.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Press Centre in Kano, Abbas Abdullahi Yakasai, the coordinator of the One Voice Initiative, emphasized the exemplary career and outstanding achievements of DCP Abba Kyari. Yakasai highlighted Kyari’s decorated record within the Nigeria Police Force, including prestigious awards such as the Triple IGP medals for Courage (2012, 2013, 2014), the Presidential Medal of Courage from President Muhammadu Buhari (2016), and the Award for Outstanding Service to the Nation by the National Assembly (2020).

Yakasai lauded Kyari’s zealous dedication and operational prowess, which resulted in the successful apprehension of numerous criminals and terrorists, as well as the disruption of their illicit activities. He emphasized Kyari’s pivotal role in bolstering law enforcement efforts against banditry and insurgency, restoring hope and security to Nigerian citizens.

Expressing concern over what they perceive as attempts to tarnish Kyari’s reputation by enemies of Nigeria, Yakasai urged caution against baseless accusations and urged vigilance against groups seeking to undermine the nation’s progress.

The One Voice Development Initiative decried the denial of bail to Kyari, describing it as a violation of his fundamental rights and a subversion of constitutional order. They criticized the disparity in treatment between Kyari and individuals accused of more serious offenses, arguing that it undermines principles of fairness and equality.

In a direct appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the group urged decisive intervention to secure Kyari’s immediate release. They called upon President Tinubu to halt what they described as frivolous charges and faceless claims against Kyari, allowing him to resume his service to the nation

The One Voice Development Initiative expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and urged him to consider their appeal in the best interests of Nigeria’s internal security and the well-being of its citizens.
