Ramadan:Zamfara ex-Gov distributes over N1.3billion grains to APC supporters.

Former zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has distributed assorted grains worth over N1.3billion ahead of Ramadan fasting in the state.

Flagging up the distribution on Sunday at All progressive Congress, (APC)zamfara State Secretariat in Gusau,former Governor Yari and leader of APC in the state revealed that less privilege people and party supporters are to benefit from the gesture across the 14 local government offices in the state.

He mentioned that a total of 130 trucks of assorted grains were procured and will be distributed to people as part of the gesture to earse Ramadan fasting in the state.

Former Governor Yari who was represented by senator Kabiru Garba Marafa said trucks of assorted grains that includes rice, maizes,sugar and millets would be distributed to beneficiaries in the state.

According to him,each Local Government would receive five trucks loaded of assorted grains except Gusau local government which will get ten trucks being the state capital.

“A total of 130 trucks loaded with rice,sugar,millet and maize worth over N1.3 billion was procured by for Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and our leader of APC in zamfara state for distribution to people as part of Ramadan largees”.

He explained that Local Government party executives were not part of those to benefit from the 5 trucks allocated to each across the state, stressed that exco members would get their own separate.

“I warned those whose intention is to divert the grains or reduce part of it to desist from doing so,as leadership would not condoled such act,I call on any local government that received less than what was allocated to report to me”. Marafa said.

Senator Marafa maintained that supporters of APC in the state are now United and would continue to remain United no matter what the squabbles between them.

In his well come remarked,the state APC chairman Alhaji lawal M.Liman disclosed that APC is now becoming United and more stronger day in day out in the state.

M.Liman urged supporters of APC to always remain law abiding citizens and support the party for a more brighter future in the state.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially welcomed former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso into its fold, touting his defection as a pivotal move that strengthens a growing coalition for political realignment in Nigeria.

In a statement released for immediate effect, the party described Kwankwaso as a “game-changer,” announcing that he has directed his network of supporters nationwide to join the ADC. According to the party, this call has already triggered a significant uptick in registrations on its online platform over the past 24 hours.

The ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, framed the defection as part of a broader recognition among Nigerians of the need for a credible political alternative. The statement emphasized Kwankwaso’s experience in governance, grassroots influence, and capacity to unify as assets to the party’s ambition to “rebuild Nigeria.”

Foreign Affairs Minister Resigns to Pursue Bauchi Governorship Election

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has resigned from his position in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pursue the governorship of Bauchi State in the 2027 election.

Tuggar submitted his resignation on Monday, in compliance with a presidential directive requiring all political appointees with electoral ambitions to vacate their posts by the March 31, 2026, deadline.

The directive, issued through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, aligns with Section 88(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026, and the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). It affects ministers, advisers, and heads of federal agencies intending to contest in the 2027 general elections.

Reports have it that his resignation positions him to seek the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Bauchi State gubernatorial race.

Tuggar’s entry is expected to significantly reshape the state’s political landscape, intensifying an already competitive contest for the APC nomination. Kwankwaso Officially Joins ADC

Former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and ex-Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress.

The former Minister of Defence also registered with the party and received his membership card on Monday at Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, Kano.
