NMA urged to explore dialogue for Improve Health Care

NMA Kano has been urged to explore dialogue and negotiations in order to achieve its goal of improved Healthcare delivery in the state.

 

The Director-General of Kano state Agency for the Control of Aids, Dr. Sabitu Y. Shu’aibu Shanono made the plea today when he received the newly elected exco of the Nigerian Medical Association, (NMA)Kano state branch who called on him in his office.

Dr. Sabitu Shanono said the government of Kano State in its entirety recognized the role of NMA as a key stakeholder in the health sector,

 

He expressed the appreciation of state government for the laudable initiative of the association(NMA) and its contribution to the COVID 19 response in the state.

 

He added that the door of the Agency is always open and ready to work hand in hand with the Association (NMA)to move the state forward in terms of healthcare delivery.

 

Earlier, the chairman of the NMA Kano, Dr. Usman Ali, said they were in the Agency to solicit the support and guidance in steering the affairs of the association.

 

Mr. Usman Ali said the association organises medical outreach in the selected LGAs of 3 senatorial zones for a free consultation, medication, and surgery, and those deemed to be severe cases are referred to secondary and tertiary facilities.

 

He said the association (NMA) guides the young ones to pick their carriers in academia and clinical specialties as well as given training on skills acquisition and entrepreneurs.

 

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer Malam Aminu Bello Sani quoted the Chairman of the NMA saying as part of their current plans to augment the efforts of the state government to improve the health service delivery, the NMA plans to build a hospital in Kano looking at its manpower and capacity.

Sultan of Sokoto Urges Nigerians to Stop Criticizing Leaders and Allow God to Deal With Them

Nigerians have been urged to desist from castigating their leaders and all those in authority.

This call was made to Nigerians by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III on Monday at the the Regional Conference on Climate Change-Induced Conflicts in Northern Nigeria hosted in Kaduna.

According to the Sultan, it is important that Nigerians rather than insult their leaders, they should allow God to really with them.

He also urgee Nigerians to contibue praying for their keaders and tne nation as a whole.

He further called on religious leadera accros Nigeria to quit misleadinh members of ghwir congregation.

“A lot of people say we have never had it so bad, but no matter how difficult it is, ease will come. We believe nothing lasts forever.

“Nothing bad and nothing good lasts forever. Let us intensify prayers in our congregations and encourage our followers to pray for our leaders.

“We will not castigate them; we will allow Almighty Allah to deal with them as He wishes and He will,” the Sultan notes.

Breaking: Court Drops Charges Against Minors

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday struck out the charges brought against a total of 119 #EndBadGovernance protesters.

All 119 protesters were arraigned on Friday, November 1 on charges bordering on Treason felony, inciting to mutiny, among others.

The defendants were arraigned in two batches at the previous proceeding.

The first batch comprised a total of 76 protesters which included 32 minors and the second batch a total of 43 protesters.

The trial judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, struck out the suit following an application by the counsel to the Attorney General of the Federation, M. D Abubakar, to take over and discontinue the matter.
