NGO trains women in Kano on entrepreneurship skills acquisition

A nongovernmental organization, Better life for children and women future foundation, is training about 50 women to explore entrepreneur skills to access window of export opportunities available to enhance their productivity.

The NGO established two years ago said its emphasis is on women in the northern part of the country so as to eradicate poverty.

The founder of the organization, Hajia Sameera Abubakar Abdullahi stated this on Monday at a free 3-day empowerment program in different skill acquisition as part of activities making the international women’s day holding in Kano.

‘’The initiative is to prepare them to understand the essence of branding in product production and international and national marketing,’’ said the founder of the NGO.

‘’The training include bookkeeping, how to access fund and products exportation and mentorship.’’

The skills acquisition program includes the production of perfume, Air freshener, Hair cream, Body lotion, Shampoo and Humrah among others.

In a remark, Vice- President, Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) expressed happiness with the inclusion of physically challenged persons in the program so as for them to be self-reliant.

‘’ I want to appeal to the organization to extend its free training opportunities to women in rural areas for them to benefits from the initiative. Also, I commend you with the program held in Kabo local government area of Kano.’
’ Also speaking at the event, Malama Zahrau Bashir, Education Intervention Officer, said the selection of the capacity building beneficiaries was open, transparent and competitive.
