So many mouth-watering stories to tell about Sokoto Birnin Shehu! But I reserved everything only to tell how i was awesomely attracted to that unique Hausa-dialect spoken in Birnin Shehu; when you are answered with “Awo!” in Sokoto, it means; “Yes!”. I won’t learn it!…
But I was disappointed how Shehu’s Tomb (Hubbaren Shehu) was turned into a begging-place! The place that was supposed to house a pure soul of Shehu and his disciples were littered with assumed-beggars in police uniforms asking visitors to pay a little for their shoes that will be looked after and cripples pretending to be Shehu’s descendants, who ask for money to pray for the visitors!…..
I was also disappointed in the passive nature of Sokoto’s politicians! They seem not to bother in helping the people they represent. Water that supposes to be the cheapest thing in Sokoto is harder than Gold itself! People travel far to find water!.. Why not provide them with only boreholes to ease their lives!?…😥

The Megawatts, the FG provides to cities in Nigeria seem to be missed dearly by Sokoto. It is hard to travel through the city at night as it is always dark and scary!…😒
I will one day return to Sokoto and pick a second wife!.
