I have no regret being a Kannywood star – Samirah Ahmad

Kannywood screen diva Samirah Ahmad has revealed that she had no regret being a Kannywood star. The film actress, film producer, humanitarian and an interior decorator has been one of the finest products the Hausa film making industry has produced in the last three decades.

Born on 24th September in Nassarawa local government area of Kano state in Nigeria; Samirah attended Giginyu Special Primary School and later proceeded to Government Girl’s Secondary Jogana in Kano. After completing her secondary school the actress ventured into the film making industry and later went back to Federal College of Education Kano (FCE) where she obtained a diploma certificate in accounting and auditing.

Outrage As Kannywood Actor Commits Plagiarism

The actress said she was introduced into the film industry by her close friend Mansura Isa, the wife of Kannywood actor and singer Sani Musa Danja. However, the actress seems to be absent from the screen for some time now, to the extent that her fans began thinking whether she had finally quit the industry or otherwise. However, the actress says she is still part and parcel of the movie making industry.

´ I am happy and proud of being an actress because being an actress has accorded me the opportunity to address various societal issues through films which ordinarily I wouldn’t have done,” she said.

 

According to her Kannywood has been a one big family and that she will always be proud of being part of it. The actress also agreed that she has not been regular in the film making business as an actress, but that does not mean she has quit the industry. She explained that she has ventured into film production and she loves doing things according to standard, which is why she has not been regular in the industry lately.

She added that Kannywood has given her so much to be grateful and also her business has been a success story worth telling and that was why she felt the need to show her appreciation and gratitude through assisting others to attain their life’s dream.

It was gathered that the actress had sponsored over 100 students to study in various institutions of learning and she had also undertaken projects of providing boreholes in girls secondary schools in Jogana among other places.

 

The actress had also championed a program that provides food and basic commodities to ease hardship in various communities across Kano state as well as some neighboring states. Samirah is also a brand ambassador to various products such as Mudatex, Afnan Furnitures, National Open University of Nigeria and Abaya and accessories.

 

The actress also played a lead role in Kannywood films like ‘Sai na dawo, Garin dadi, Bissalam and Na Mamajo’ among hundreds of films recorded in the industry..
