Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has defaulted in the payment of  N25 million cash prize to  Kano Pillars who were winners of the 2019 edition of the prestigious  AITEO cup tourney.

Kano Pillar was crowned winners of the  Nigeria National Cup now known as Aiteo Cup beating  Niger Tornadoes 4-3 on penalties after a deadlock at full time of play at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, in July 2019.

Two years after clinching the trophy, the chairman of the club, Suraju Shaibu Jambull decried the inability of the organizers to redeem the N25 million prize money attached to the trophy.

Jambull in a media chat at the club secretariat located along UBD road told sportswriters that, efforts to claim the prize money from the national football federation has been fruitless.

He said “we are in a financial crunch and you can quote me, we are have not received a single kobo for winning the AITEO cup.

“if you consider how we are struggling financially, if we get the money, it will help us to upset some of our bills, we seriously need the money now.

“But when you say it, some people will get provoked and label you names, they feel you are raising dust and causing problems, how is it a problem, that I have unclaimed N25 million for winning a national competition and you expect me not to express my grievances, especially when am financially pressed and need a financial lifeline to keep the team afloat in the national league,” Jambull noted.
