Teachers Day: Public Holiday Should be declared in their Honour

This years teachers day is celebrated amidst number of challenges bedevilling the entire system.

Some teachers engaged in researches to either improved on their various fields and techniques as well as new devises for impacting knowledge.

This years theme is Teachers: Leading in crisis, regaining the future.

World teachers is celebrated around the globe with a clearly stated theme which sends message to the world about teachers and their noble profession.

Breaking :Kano re-open schools October 11

It was noted that teachers day recognition begins with a big step for teachers on 5th October, 1966 during a special intergovernmental conference summoned by UNESCO in Paris.

It was in the conference that teachers Rights and Responsibility were clearly stated as well as the recruitment and employment of teachers, the learning conditions and preparation which was sponsored by UNESCO/ILO.

This years teachers day is not only a challenging one ,but a moment to appreciate the good and selfless services to the future of young people.

This years message of UNESCO, ILO, UNICEF, reads ” In this crisis teachers have shown as they have done so often, great leadership and innovation in ensuring that # Learning never stops, that no learner is left behind ”

Around the world, they have worked individually and collectively to find a solutions and create new learning environments for their students to allow education to continue.

Their roles In advising for schools reopening plans and supporting students also very important.

Teachers are always at the peak position of making the future of students a very good one.

In Nigeria and other developing countries teachers engaged in teaching via social media platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook.

Finally, teachers day should be celebrated by all, not only teachers and other few stakeholders, there should be a work free day in every nation to appreciate the great gesture and noble work of shaping the future.
