In Kano Emirate, a Prince “Dan Sarki” is he who has a lineage or intimate link biologically to Emir of Kano, Ibrahim Dabo through his paternal side, that is (Jihatul Ubuwwa), no matter how long or short the link is, from Ibrahim, Dabo is either subsequent successors, who later ascend the Royal Throne, Chieftaincy Title Holders or they are among the District Heads or even those that didn’t hold any Chieftaincy Title, whatever it is, once someone’s family lineage has a link with Emir of Kano Ibrahim Dabo, that person is a Prince of the famous Kano Emirate, whether with or without turban of any Chieftaincy Title on his head, and he is entitled to ascend the Throne of his ancestors and become an Emir.

Thus, no matter how poor the family tie of his maternal side is, that won’t affect him of being a Prince of Kano Emirate.
From on 21st September 1819 when the then Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Bello Son of Shehu Usman Bin Fodio turbaned Malam Ibrahim Dabo as the Emir of Kano, up to today the mantle of leadership of the famous Kano Emirate is with the Dabo’s lineage, whoever ascends the throne of Kano Emirate, he succeeded Emir Ibrahim Dabo, and all the descendants of Dabo can ascend the throne of their ancestors, no doubt about it.
It is very important for all to take note of the following:
- Late Kano Emir, Ado Bayero, Aminu’s father and late Emir of Kano, Sir Muhammadu Sanusi (Khalifa) both of them were born by late Emir of Kano, Abdullahi Bayero (Sarki Alhaji), Sir Muhammadu Sanusi (Khalifa) born late Ciroman Kano, Aminu Sanusi, who is Sanusi ll’s father and late Emir of Kano Ado Bayero born Aminu, the incumbent Kano Emir.
- Sanusi Lamido Lived in Ado Bayero’s house comfortably, he was given Ado Bayero’s 16th child, Sadiya Ado Bayero (Bagadede), who is the 7th daughter to Ado Bayero, Sanusi Lamido married her at the age of 15 years when she was a student of Federal Government Girl’s College (FGGC), Kazaure.
- It was Aminu’s father, late Ado Bayero that paved a way for Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to enter the cycle of Kano Emirate as one of the title Holders when Emir Ado turbaned Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Danmajen Kano when Lamido was the governor of Nigeria’s Apex Bank, Central Bank of Nigeria in the year 2012.
- History has shown that on the Ascension of Late Ado Bayero to the Throne of Kano Emirate, the then Ciroman Kano, Aminu Sanusi (Sanusi Lamido’s father) spent 25 years without going to the Palace and pay his allegiance to the then-new Emir, Ado Bayero and Ado didn’t dethrone Aminu Sanusi for that.
- Aminu Ado Bayero was named after his cousin brother, Aminu Sanusi (who is Lamido’s father) by Aminu’s father, Late Ado Bayero.
- Aminu Ado Bayero, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and all members of the Dabo lineage are the same.
- In the house of Late Emir Ado Bayero, Aminu (then Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida) accepted the will of Almighty Allah and be among the first set of people that paid allegiance to Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (Muhammadu Sanusi II), who ascends the throne as the 14th Emir of Kano in Fulani dynasty and succeeded Aminu’s father, Late Ado Bayero on Sunday, 8th June 2014, just 2 days after the demise of Aminu’s father, Late Ado Bayero.
- Aminu’s acceptance of the will of Almighty Allah made him be a loyalist to Muhammadu Sanusi ll when Sanusi ascend the throne. As the saying goes; Loyalty is Royalty! And it pays, indeed, it is! And everybody has seen it when the Emir Muhammadu Sanusi ll elevate Aminu Ado Bayero from Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida to Wamban Kano in the year 2015.
- Currently, in Aminu’s cabinet there are members of Sanusi’s family;
- a) Galadiman Kano Abbas Sanusi.
- b) Abdullahi Lamido Sanusi.
- c) Dan Buran, Mannir Sanusi
Etc and even Isa Sanusi (Isa Pilot) is even one of the close confident of Aminu Ado Bayero.
At this juncture, I am calling upon all well-wishers of the former and the later to either do as commanded by the former Emir Muhammadu Sanusi ll in his valedictory speech or should keep mute for all of you to relieve yourselves from the too much burden you put yourselves in, in the name of criticizing Aminu Ado Bayero for the love and sympathy you have for Muhammadu Sanusi ll or vice versa.
If you really love this family of Emir of Kano Ibrahim Dabo, just keep praying for Almighty Allah to straighten the family.
Aminu Ado and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi none of their daughters can marry Sarki Alhaji Bayero because he is their father and none of them (Aminu Ado and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi) can marry Mariya Harara, because she is their mother.
Allah ya hada kawunan zuri’ar Gidan Dabo!
