My online restaurant is being patronized from 8 Nigerian states- A young ABU graduate

Zainab Aminu Bakori is a graduate of library and information science from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, the 23 year old young lady graduated with second class upper division from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University ,though she had wanted to study MBBS but when she couldn’t ,she fetch her tent with Library and information science, in this interview with the Nigerian Tracker Zainab Aminu Bakori bares her mind on the importance of entrepreneurship and self reliance, Excerpts.

How do you start the E Restaurant?
I started this business after I finished my University in the year 2019, and came back home without doing anything, last year around the month of December I visited my aunts in Kaduna, one day I decided to make samosas and spring rolls for the family, we ate and everyone enjoyed it, and my aunts advised that I should start the pastry business since I have the skills and can make it perfectly, it just started as a joke ,.after I came back to Kano, I decided to try it .I posted on my Whats app status that I sell snacks and drinks, people should start sending their orders. So ,like play ,that’s how my friends and family started patronizing ,then the business begins,at that time I just posted to see how far it will go without me even having a cup of flour.
I also chose a day and then went for shopping, came back and made some snacks, to my greatest surprise it finished that same day and people were even asking for more, which I make another one the following day
You mean customers patronize you online?
Not only online customers, my neighbors, family, relatives and all, even people I don’t know ,many call and order for Delicacies without us knowing each other because I sent flyers to people so as to help me post and tell others,

For how many months have you been into the business?
For about 5 months now,I started in Jan 2020.
Since you are generating customers online how fast are people coming?
Masha Allah ,when I started this business my friends, and family were my only customers but now I have many,and people order a little just to taste, but for now I make snacks for birthday parties, wedding, meeting, reception and lots and it does not stop here, we also deliver to states like Kaduna, Kano,Abuja, Jigawa,Plateau,Kebbi,Yobe and Katsina states etc.
Alhamdulillah I have alot of customers that I have never imagine having and I have been linked to people I have never imagine my delicacies will reach,now I received orders everyday.

WhatsApp and Instagram
Zainab, you are a graduate of Library and information science how comes after graduation you venture into E- restaurant at a time most graduates want work in offices and be paid salary?
I wanted studying MBBS, so I wasn’t opportune to get admission into that department, so i decided to study library science,putting at the back of my mind after that Iam just going into business, I want to be my own boss because I just don’t like people giving me commands and turning me the way they like . So,had it been I was opportune to be a Doctor I would have worked, since i could not, i decided to venture into business after school,and to be my own boss.
I want to be my own boss and be paying others not me to be paid.
Since you started this business in January are you impressive with the profit ?
Very ,very impressive, I started with not up to 10k and Alhamdulillah for now I save a lot every month..I do and buy a lot of things for myself without bothering to ask my parents .
Now with this huge profit what is your ambition in the business?
Iam planning big by opening a shop that we will sell all the delicacies and also other things that we will be adding to our menu. We will be having shop and also continue with the E-business because both have advantage..I want my stuffs to reach where I did not reach yet.
