Doctors working under the Kano State Government have suspended the strike they embarked on on October 1st.

The suspension followed a meeting between the doctors and representatives of the Kano State Government.

The Secretary of the Kano Doctors Association, Anas Idris Hassan Shanono, stated this to newsmen after an emergency meeting of the association.

Anas said they decided to suspend the strike until the end of this month, considering the promises made by the state government. He called on all doctors to return to work.

It should be recalled that one of the doctors’ demands is the inadequate number of medical personnel in the state’s hospitals, with only 600 doctors serving more than 20 million people. They also protested the state government’s failure to pay their post-COVID-19 hazard allowances.
