Personally, the suspension of Beta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian and poverty alleviation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not come to me as a surprise.I have seen it coming based on those homongous revelations and public outcry
If you are fighting corruption,it will surely fight back.In every Ministry there are good and bad people .But in most cases the bad ones are usually the most powerful and once you don’t do their bidding you are gone. This may likely be the situation Betta Edu found herself.
Naturally, public commentators would applaud president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking such a drastic step that had eluded our system for sometime.I also join others to commend the president for a timely decision in order to ensure proper investigation .I have no scintilla of doubt that Tinubu’s administration’s resolve to fight corruption is static and sincere. But my prayer is that she survives this turbulence.
This situation shouldn’t project the youth as the most corrupt in our country.
Most importantly,She might have played into the hands of corrupt officials in the ministry.Inexperience, perhaps nailed her.I like her, she is hardworking and has empathy.
To those who are judging her already, don’t be in a haste because you don’t have the privilege she has had, until you and I found ourselves in her shoe then we would know if we are better than her.I won’t judge her until after investigation.
