KEDCO Announces System Upgrade for Prepaid Meters

Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Plc. (KEDCO) wishes to inform its prepaid customers of the commencement of a system upgrade on Prepayment Meters (PPM) which involves Token Identifier (TID) Rollover.

The system and prepaid meters upgrade is necessary to enhance the security and
reliability of our prepaid meter system while ensuring seamless operation and
improved user experience for our prepaid metered customers.

Therefore, our PPM customers will soon be required to input key-change tokens
(KCT1 & KCT2) into their meters, for the implementation of the upgrade. These key
change tokens are free and will not affect your current electricity tariff, but
specifically designed for the upgrade and facilitate the migration onto the newer
system.

The issuance and input of key-change tokens would commence in December 2023.
