SWAN 2023 : Malikawa unveils Presidential Campaign Committee, PCC, others

Ahead of the proposed , Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN National Triennial Congress, frontline SWAN presidential  candidate, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu has announced the  formation of his electoral  navigation  squad.

Malikawa disclosed that, he has approved the  formation of two sensitive campaign organs, namely, Campaign Directorate and Presidential Campaign Committee. PCC.

The  Kano born veteran sports broadcaster,  said , the bodies will play their assigned roles on two fronts, which are to take decisions and implement those decisions that are for the good of the  members of association,   in all ramifications of the journey  taking into account all the knotty issues associated with an election period.

He said “in an election. there are so many issues and forces at stake and at work, despite whatever challenges, confronting us as a body of sports pen people, what is certain is that, we are going to the  polls and our leaders must emerge , from legitimate  procedural  rules  and norms.

“Association work is a team work, it is not a one man show, to showcase how prepared we are and that insha Allah,  when we come on board, it is going to be a collective responsibility, at this juncture, we want to show it has to and  must start from now, it is never  too late, we must begin  to consolidate from all axis, it is  a national  duty that requires a national approach.

“ I can confirm to you,  that after wide consultations from all critical stakeholders, I have their blessings to  put in place  the campaign directorate and we have  also now, on ground  , the Presidential Campaign Council, the campaign directorate is been assigned to be  coordinated by a seasoned sports journalists, Abdulgafar Oladimeji, in the next few days, we will make public the names of the  members of our team, that will pilot the journey at this crucial stages,   they will  decide and take  the next line of actions on all matters pertaining  the forth coming  SWAN national elections.”

 He appealed to members of the association to remain committed to the association, adding that “  whatever interest one represents, SWAN submerges anybody, soldier go soldier come, as we progress, note that  posterity is there for us ,  I appeal to our conscience , that we should always remember that , we will be  judged accordingly  herein and the hereafter.” Malikawa stated.

“I owe it to thank all those that have  made sacrifices in their support to this cause, in one way or the other, I remain committed to the vision and mission of    the  founding fathers of sports journalism in Nigeria.” Malikawa  averred.
