The North West APC Youth Group has endorsed and expressed support for Senator Barau I Jibrin from Kano North to become the next Senate President. The convener of the group, Hon. Musa Mujahid Zaitawa, made this known in a press statement.
Zaitawa pointed out that the North West, especially Kano, deserves the Senate President seat based on the highest votes they gave to APC in the 2015, 2019, and 2023 elections. He questioned why the North West should be denied the position when the South West produced the President, North East produced the Vice President, and North Central produced the National Party Chairmanship.
The Arewa APC Youth Support Group convener called on the leadership of the APC to consider Senator Barau I Jibrin based on his outstanding performance and honesty in representing his senatorial district in the North West. Zaitawa emphasized that religious differences should not be a factor in choosing the next Senate President, as previous governments have had Christian leaders in prominent positions without any challenge.
Zaitawa urged stakeholders to consider the interests of the North West and support Senator Barau I Jibrin to become the next Senate President of the 10th Assembly. He stated that this would be beneficial for national development and democracy in the country.
