The newly elected president of wheat farmers association, Kano chapter, has promised to work assiduously in order to boost local wheat production in the state.
Alhaji Musa Sheka, disclosed this on Monday in Kano while briefing newsmen shortly after assuming office as the new president of the wheat farmers association Kano Chapter.
Sheka described the involvement of government and stakeholders in wheat farming as a way forward to the development of wheat production in the country.
He said as a newly elected president he will work assiduously in ensuring adequate development of wheat farmers across the federation.
Sheka appealed to the government to intervein in the programs of wheat farmers, saying that what is currently taking place in Ukraine should serve as an example, so that the country can produce enough wheat that wl feed the nation.
The president maintained that the Association was not only for the northerners rather for all Nigerians, hence he would ensure that members from the 36 States we’re being carried along.
He added that his stewardship would work tirelessly in addressing the challenge of inadequate farming inputs, training and retraining of wheat farmers among others.
He solicited the support of wheat farmers from states of the federation, geared towards achieving the set objectives.
