An Imam of the National mosque and a former university Lecturer Professor Ahmad Ibrahim Maqari says majority of university lecturers are not conducting research after they attain the rank of professorship.
Maqari stated this in a viral video that the issue of research is a lie being peddled to attract attention noting that the issue of research is exaggerated.

According to Professor Maqari most university Professors bring out old notes to teach students even the research they are conducting is done to get promoted.
The former university don said a university Professors and other lecturers hardly work or lecture for 10 hours in a week.
Professor Maqari added that some university lecturers even use their students handouts and assignments to write journals and also get promoted.
Professor Maqari was once a lecturer with the Department of Arabic Bayero University Kano before he finally resigns.
