The jostle for the NFF’s apex position has already begun with the date for the AGA fixed for August 16 in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The AGA will determine the date of the forthcoming elective congress . However, a handful of contenders and pretenders have thrown their hats on ring as they eye to succeed the incumbent NFF President.
The insatiable question many keep asking is who is the best man to succeed Amaju Melvin Pinnick and pilot the affairs of the apex football governing body in the land for another four years until 2026?
This is a question begging for answers and whenever you ask yourself this rhetorical question then the answer is next close to you.

Without mincing words, the answer is no any other than Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the Chairman of Chairmen, currently serving as an executive board member of the current NFF Executive Committee. Gusau is also the NFF’s Security Committee Chairman.
The Zamfara FA Chairman was recently appointed as a member of CAF’s Youth Organizing Committee. A committee saddled with the responsibility of organising AFCON U17, U20, and U23.
He also previously served as member of CHAN organising committee.
Ibrahim Gusau is hated by few and loved by many. His up righteousness, magnanimity and simplicity is second to known. Gusau’s doors and phones are always open for all at a time when administrators find it difficult to respond to calls or messages.
His emergence as No. 1 man in Nigeria Football will no doubt heal old wounds, unify the entire football fraternity and bring an end to the long standing rift among some disgruntled stakeholders who feel sidelined.
