It is exactly 20 years today from 12/7/2002 surviving on a wheelchair. Although not easy, but with the will of God it has never been regretful to me as whatever God has ordained must be followed through and has to be accepted in good faith as a Muslim.

As people said, one’s creation is not completed until he/she is dead. My condition is neither as a result of accident nor was it because of any long sickness. I just woke up in the morning, after my morning prayers, I took my bath and dressed up for work as a class room teacher then. I started feeling body weaknesses with fever but I decided just to go out for work.
As I came out of the room, started going, before I reach the gate I just instantly stopped in one place. I discovered that I can not move. I did not fall down, I then gently went back to the room with the support of the wall and led on the bed. After about 30 minutes I realized that I cannot stand and/or walk, all my legs seized on the spot . A new life entirely began.

It is the start of the journey indeed. Apart from prayers, I have been going from one hospital to another within and outside the Nigeria as well as visiting many traditional herbs, in fact, I was indoor for good two years.

Thank Good I was not under serious body pain but cannot stand or walk. This incidence happened after my graduation from university and a month for my NYSC. I did my service two years later and decided to go back to my classroom teaching where I taught for good six years on the wheel.

It is under this condition that I found myself as elected member Jigawa State House of Assembly with help of God (indeed this is a miracle) through the support of Dr Sule Lamido the then Governor of Jigawa State in line with his love to carry persons with Disabilities along. God is indeed wonderful, hence another segment of life began.

A lot has happened however, just to tell you that God can taste you at any point of time.

I am greattful to my family, friends and loved ones for their supports. ALHMDULLAH!!!
