The glory and gratitude be to Allah who in his infinite mercy Who prolongs our lives by witnessing yet another month of Ramadan.

The sacred month is embedded with the night of Bliss ( Layla Tul Qadri ) a night better than 1000 nights, which is much welcoming and warmly receive in full of elation by all Muslims worldwide.

The period is a unique opportunity, but lucky enough to those who are alive to witness it.

A golden recourse for every Muslim to ask for forgiveness and temporal bounty from the God Almighty – the celestial King of all creation.

This year’s Ramadan season commences today, Saturday, April, 2nd 2022, whereby Muslims in Nigeria join their brethren all over the globe to commence the 29-30 day period.

Ramadan is among the five pillars of Islam is a month in which the Quran is first revealed and the doors of paradise are wide open, and the entrances of hell are closed.

2023 Elections and Kano Political Gamblers

The holy month is characterized by intense devotion, prayers, Quran recitations, supplications, assisting the less privileged as well as abstinence from sunrise to twilight.

In the course of observing the 4-week fasting period, Muslims are expected according to Allah’s injunctions to distance themselves from committing anything capable of denting the fasting’s validity.

During the period, rat races are in full throttle in helping the less privileged in the society with foodstuffs through Zakat (annual almsgiving from the rich ) among others. This kind of gesture of giving to the poor during the month of Ramadan has an immense significance – to get God’s acceptance and also to sow the seed of humanity with genuine expectations to reap the benefits in the hereafter.

Fortunately, this year’s month of Ramadan comes at the right time, wherein hopes and prayers are deemed to be in manifolds, given the torrent state of insecurity and economic mismanagement posing to rip off our nation apart – especially the North.

This is a golden recourse to ask for forgiveness from the God Almighty – the celestial King.

The season is also a good time to pray for our nation of good leadership given the echoing political drumbeat blaring in preparation for the next general elections.

Every Nigerian is a living witness and need not be told or reminded of how the ineffectual tired hands and legs robbed the nation of all its potential to thrive.

In this holy month which is characterised by chastity, prayers and supplication are supremely crucial, solemnly yearning for God to return peace and harmony into the state of our nation.

Nigerians have had enough butchery resulting from banditry, terrorism and kidnapping which makes human lives becoming even worthless. This season is an opportunity worthy to be handled by praying fervently for God’s intervention.

Clerics should also use the period apart from translating the words of God, they should also preach peace and unity, to douse the embers smouldering beneath the polity.

This is the time to reflect and reverse our thoughts, by becoming steadfast in prayers so that Nigeria can be rid of all its challenges.

Ramadan is the month where satan and evil spirits are chained up, May God Almighty, by the virtues and blessings sandwiched in this holy month If Ramadan set the nation free from the bondage of widespread poverty and the hard grip of insecurity clutching our dear nation – Nigeria.

Happy Ramadan Kareem.
