To avoid PR damage, Air Peace Airline could have done two or three things to Emir Aminu Bayero and his entourage:

Though, it’s programmed to indicate anybody’s ticket as “no show” when that person missed a flight, but the management of Air Peace could have done an internal work and made the tickets as cancelled, in that case, the Emir’s entourage will not have to pay any extra charges since it was not their fault to missed the flight; as a company, maintaining reputation and controlling damages are part and parcel of their growth and development.

Secondly, another thing they could have done since they are the ones that delayed the emir’s flight from Banjul to Lagos was to pay for the Emir’s and his entourage’s hotel bills. Doing that will reduce the tension and show their concern.

Thirdly, Allen had goofed, as a businessman, he should know better how to handle people and his business, most especially high profile customers. It’s very wrong for him to say he could not offer any help when he was called by the emir’s uncle. If Mr. Allen had pleaded with Isah Bayero to see the implications and consequences of delaying their flight from Lagos to Kano full of passengers to their company and the image of the emir, I believe Mr. Sunusi would understand.
