Kano: Nutrition Society of Nigeria   Conducts One Day  Outreach For Breast Feeding Mothers

Nutrition Society of Nigeria, NSN,  Kano state chapter has implored pregnant and  lactating mothers to imbibe the  practice of good hygiene and exclusive breast feeding , hinting  that the practice  is the sole route to producing a productive  society.

The chairman NSN Kano state chapter, Ibrahim Isiyaku in his remarks, during an outreach programme held at Jaba community, Fagge local government, in Kano state last Saturday  said the essence of the outreach is targeted at educating breast feeding mothers and Caregivers  on the importance of exclusive breast feeding couple with other hygienic  values.

He added that at  the programme  the participants were alerted on the dangers associated with failure by pregnant mothers to attend ANC session,

Isiyaku further appealed to pregnant and lactating  mothers to invest on their personal and household personal  hygiene, adding that  the nutrition consciousness amongst women determines the productive  development of any society.

Our correspondent reports that  the outreach supported by Ajino-Moto included the carrying out of the  assessment  of  nutrition status  of children under -5, habitants in Jaba  community.
