By the time Late Head of state General Sani Abacha took over from Chief Ernest Shonekan, the retired General has many children begining from the late Ibrahim Sani Abacha who died in a plane crash in January 1996 at Dausayi VILLAGE in Kano.
All other General Sani Abacha’s children were either born during his formative years in the army and most of his military days in the southwest.

But General Sani Abacha’s last born child AL -Mustapha was born when Abacha became Nigeria’s Head of state.
Even though General Sani Abacha stayed in Dodan Barracks for a while before finally moving to state House in Abuja.
But the most prominent among his children was Muhammad Sani Abacha who is now the eldest after the demise of his brother Ibrahim Sani Abacha in a plane crash in January 1996.
