<p>A Sergeant with the Nigerian Army (name<br />
withheld) has disclosed how bandits abducted him and tortured him for 26 days.</p>
<p>The Sergeant was among the 77 people<br />
rescued from the bandits by a combine team of security personnel in Katsina.</p>
<p>He noted that his ordeal started when bandits operating around Jibia area in Katsina State sprayed his vehicle with bullets before abducting him, his children and relatives.</p>

<p>According to him, after his abduction his<br />
captors demanded for N1.5 million which hepaid before the bandits agreed to release his three children while holding on to him and histwo other relatives.</p>

<p>He noted that going by how the bandits identifyhim as a security personnel even though he isnot in uniform shows that they have priorinformation about him.</p>
<p>The Sergeant narrated how his abductors<br />
subjected him to daily beating while also<br />
blindfolding him.</p>
<p>He disclosed that the incident happened whilehe visited home to nurse an injury he sustained in his area of operations.</p>
<p>He thanked the security agencies for rescuing him and other victims from the bandits den.</p>
