Nigeria Economy  Under APC Government Is A Yoke of Poverty  Says Maidawa Fagge

The  spokesman of factional Peoples Democratic Party Kano state chapter, Aminu Maidawa Fagge has bemoan the economic hardship invoked on Nigerians by the weak economic  policies initiated by the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC saying Nigerians are groaning under the yoke of abject poverty

The newly elected deputy Public Relations Officer, on the platform of  the Aminu Wali led Kano PDP faction  , Maidawa said “ I have to be candid , the economy is bad and was already in recession before the Covid-19 pandemic , particularly when you realize that the federal government hardly achieve the set out budgetary projections before Covid-19,outbreak , so the global health crisis  has only  worsened the situation,

“The federal government led by APC also help worsened the economic hardship   by blocking avenues that would breath live into local businesses by closing the land  borders.” Maidawa stated.

He appealed to the presipdent Muhammadu  Buhari led administration to learn to lend listening ears to technocrats, stressing that the attitude of ignoring advise from exerts would continue to worsened the economic hardship that is currently  burdening  Nigerians.

In his words , “ to save Nigerians from the hardship, we are now passing though, with Covid -19 ravaging everywhere,  the government should immediately  open all the borders, not opening some and the others are still under locks and keys, no,  secondly the government must  learn to lend  listening ears to those who are knowledgeable in economics, even if they are speaking from  outside the government, because it is evident that  the government  has been ignoring advises from technocrats, who are outside public service.

“The government must now also develop the strategy  to  consult  and brainstorm widely with the   heads of traditional institutions, spiritual leaders, industrialist, traders, artisans and those in the academic sector, even students, to know what their needs are and what solutions they will suggest, this will go a long way to help save the present situation from sliding into abyss.”

“Also, the government must immediately pursue the stoppage of brain drain of  technocrats  from public service to the private sector it  must be discouraged, this is has continue to leave gaps that could not be filled anytime there is a national challenge and emergency just like the outbreak of Covid-19.” Maidawa said .
