The Member representing , Dawakin Tofa, Rimin-Gado and Tofa, at the Federal House of representatives Engr. Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe has described his decision to empower 100 youths in his Constituency on agricultural value chain as a bold step towards reducing the alarming spate of youth unemployment permeating every nooks and crannies of the country.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the commencement of a 3-Day Training of 100 youths held in Jobe Town hall cutting across the three Local Government Areas under his domain, Jobe said he was highly disturbed at the appalling pace with which productive youths are sitting idle without having a sustainable means of livelihood adding that the empowerment drive was meant to ginger them for the purpose of standing on their feet.

He said the empowerment programme was just a beginning with the first batch of 100 youth acquiring the most basic training on rearing livestock including poultry in addition to given them the required capital as take-off grant stressing that there is nothing more important than empowering youths to stand on their feet.
He said the time has come for youths in the country to disabuse their minds on the acquisition of white collar jobs at the time such an opportunity has virtually frittered away stressing that as a law maker he has an abiding responsibility to support productive youths in his domain to forge ahead in that regard.
He pointed out that no responsible political office holder would love to pay lip service to youths empowerment in a democratic setting positing that they have the abundant potentials of contributing their widow’s mite in nation-building at the present critical stage.
He called on the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by doing what is most appropriate in exhibiting their respective talent for greater result adding that he would be inspired to put more effort in sustaining the feat, once such a gesture is effectively reciprocated.
