Some Newspaper Vendors in Kano state North-Western Nigeria said, with the new trend of online publication, Newspaper readers have now migrated online.
Manniru Abubakar an Ex -Officio With the Newspaper Vendors association in Kano said the majority of his customers including dignitaries hardly patronize the hardcopy nowadays.
According to him, most people that buy the papers now only buy for record-keeping such as change of Names, Adverts ETC,
Abubakar said often, some of his customers tell him he is bringing stale news because they had already read it online.
Furthermore, before the emergence of online publications, ” I sell at least 50 copies of Daily Trust newspapers a day ,but presently I hardly sell ten copies due to the online migration” , said Manniru.
He further said the low sale have made most of them to resort to other means of survival because their commission per day is very miniature.
According to the Newspaper Vendor official, he is now engaged in tricycle driving to survive.

He said he has an outstanding payment of over one hundred thousand Naira since the days of President Umaru Musa Yaradua, and with the coming of online, he was not paid.
Another newspaper vendor Shehu Abubakar said before the online migration he sells at least 50 to 40 copies per day but currently, he combines the business with selling fuel by the roadside to compliment his meagre earnings from Newspaper sales.
With the resurgence of Online Newspapers in the 21st century, Hard copies of Newspapers are now making it hard to sale in some Major cities across Nigeria as revealed by the vendors.
