Flood destroys over 50 Houses,6 Filling Stations in Hadejia Emirate

Flood Have washed away over 50 Houses in Margwado Village in Hadejia Emirate of Jigawa State.

A victim Malam Isa Wanzami whose village of Margwado was washed away said women and children around 3 AM converged on hill which made them to survive as the heavy downpour continues.

Isa Wanzami said women and children panicked and were about to leave the hill when they asked them not to leave because they will sink in the flood.

Malam Musa Ayuba from Auyo in Kogin Dole Village bsaid flooding have consumed the whole town and the people of Kogin dole have been evacuated by good Samaritans from Hadejia.

Musa Ayuba added that he has lost his farms, his father’s house his own house and five of his relatives.

The farms lost by Isa Wanzami include acres of Rice and Millets.

Reports says that the flooding has invaded filling stations that are six and the rain has mixed with oil.

NIHSA warns on impending flood in some states

Malam Baffa Bura who is the spokesperson Hadejia Emirate Development association said entries to the town are also water ways which make the inhabitants to be at risk of flooding.

On his part Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar who visited the scenes of the incident says they will do everything possible to help the victims.

He said he has asked the Emir of Hadejia to console his subjects and regard it as a taste from Almighty Allah.
