The member representing Gaya Albasu and Ajingi Federal Constituency In The House of Representatives Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya has on Sunday visited Malamawa village to assess the damages caused by the recent floods in Gaya local government area.
“I really feel so sad over the situation, God knows why and nobody can question adding that the flood situation in the village was not only peculiar to Gaya abut also many states and country.
Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya trekked around nooks and crannies of the village to assess the houses affected by the flood.
He said farmers affected by the flood would be supported with adequate inputs to go back to their farms when the water receded.
Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya urged peoples of Gaya local government area especially the wealthy to be their brothers’ keepers by extending assistance and compassion to the flood victims.
He also appreciates Kano state government Governor Dr. Abdullah Ganduje through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) for the prompt dispatching of its staff to assess the situation, to enable the state government to provide assistance to them.
Mahmud Gaya appealed to the Federal Government to send relief materials to the affected area to alleviate the sufferings of the peoples and also asked the Federal Government to find a solution to the perennial flooding in the country and avert a possible food crisis.
