A Coalition of Nigerian activists and long term youth leaders have faulted the formation in the National Youth Investment fund focal group constituted by the federal ministry of youth and sports under Sunday Dare.

In a statement signed by Comrade Abdurrahman Manga the Coalition for National Spread and Balanced Representation CNSBR said the focal group did not reflect federal character.

The coalition stressed that the six geopolitical zones and the 36 states of the federation should be the primary guide in the selection of the focal group since it was mandated with the sensitive role of processing stakeholders’ views.

‘We urge the ministry to make public how it came up with the lopsided list that should have represented various youth clusters as well as people living with disabilities for inclusive purposes” according to the coalition.

The statement berated the minister for youth and sports development Sunday Dare and his team for the intentional failure.

It called for an apology and an immediate dissolution of the focal group which it deemed unfit to do the intended job calling on  President Muhammad Buhari to call the minister to order on the issue.

It maintained that an Xray of the 23 member group reveals a propensity towards a certain region which will not augur well for the country and the administration, that should buckle up with the youth empowerment activities that are long overdue.
