Some Katsina women have cried out that due to the banditry ravaging parts of the state, they resort to eating cereals Bran popularly known as “Dusa” in Hausa in order to survive.
One of the Women in an emotional Interview with Rahma Radio, an FM station based in Kano, North-Western Nigeria said their means of survival has gone out of hand as such they consume Bran as food
The woman from Batsari local government area said their cattle have been rustled and a number of men have been attacked, leaving them to their woes.

According to her “when Youth farmers in their area went to the farm, they are attacked and when they escaped and climbed trees, gunmen trace and kill them, so they have no option and a number of our young able-bodied men have run away from our villages” said the woman.
She said the attackers mostly appear from the bush, most of them white in complexion, they then attack us and run away.
She appealed to authorities concerned to make sure that banditry in the affected communities comes to an end.
