BUK VC Race:  Professor Adamu Idris Tanko withdraws

A day after Bayero University congregational parley that will prelude the election of New Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Idris Tanko who came second with over 400 votes have withdrawn from the race.

 

In a letter addressed to the University’s registrar dated August 6th which was obtained by Nigerian Tracker, Professor Adamu Idris Tanko says he has accepted the congregational parley results and withdraws from the race for vice-chancellorship.

 

The statement reads as follows.

 

‘’I am pleased to refer  to my letter of July 22, 2020, that conveyed my acceptance  to you of the nomination and invitation to participate in the process for the appointment of the 11th Vice-chancellor of our University has been searched”

BUK:Professor Sageer won congregation parley

Professor Tanko said he is happy that the process has begun very well and fully participated up to the level of the congregational parley.

He said as one of the proponents of the congregational parley he was confident that the University community uses it to gauge the acceptability of all the participating candidates.

The University don said he has formally shown his respect and wishes to discontinue his participation in the process.

 

Professor Adamu Idris Tanko thanked the University search Team for finding him worthy to participate in the process.
