The late Jarman Kano, Alh Muhammadu Adamu Dan Kabo, was born in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State on April 3, 1942.

After graduating from Quranic School and Primary School, he went to Secondary School in Kano state and Federal Government Vocational Training Centre in Kaduna where he later joined the aviation business through Maryland College in the United States.

At the end of his training in the area of aviation, Dankabo earned a degree in aviation.  Since then, Alhaji Adamu Dan Kabo had been one of the frontline  Airline businessmen in Africa. He was also the Representative of Sokoto State in Northern Nigeria and later the Airline Representative in Monrovia, Liberia.

Alhaji Adamu Dankabo had joined KABO TRAVELS as one of the largest airline operators in Nigeria and Africa.

The late Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, founded his airline, KABO AIR in February 1980 and started operating in April 1981, with the launch of Domestic Flight before later developing a fleet with large airplanes to begin transporting Hajj pilgrims from Nigeria and other African countries to the Holy Land.

At the same time, the Dankabo Company, under the late Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu DanKabo, brought eight Boeing 747 aircraft, which were fully operational inside and outside Nigeria.

With the efforts made by the late  Airline Operator, Kabo Air had taken more than 50 percent of the Nigerian Pilgrims to Hajj and Umrah in the Holy Land.

The late Alhaji Adamu Dankabo, as one of the directors of the private airline, had received various awards for his commitment to the well-being of passengers and staff at home and abroad. Kabo Air was once the largest airline in West Africa, although there were many long-established airlines.

Dan Kabo had sent many young people to pilot schools and recruited many and almost all of the Northerners to enjoy the blessings of his wealth.

So far, Kabo Airlines, which is 40 years old, has never had a single plane crash.

After the death of Alhaji Adamu Dan Kabo in 2002, the quality of the former company began to decline, with the company suspending domestic operations and focusing on Hajj pilgrimage and international schedule.

In 2009, the airline was commissioned to begin planned operations around the world.  Kabo Air was allowed to fly to scheduled operations to Rome, Nairobi, and N’Djamena, but was not used due to some internal and external problems.

The airline has been flying cargo from Kano to Abuja, Cairo, Dubai, and Jeddah for a short period of time.

On March 3, 2017, the Federal Revenue Service of Nigeria closed the Kabo Air offices due to tax evasion.

Fortunately, whoever knows the late Jarman Kano, Alh Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, believes that his commitment was not limited only to the aviation sector, but also to financially supporting his business associates, especially in Kano State. He made the route easier for them to import their products from different countries.

Dankabo used his money to support many entrepreneurs who during his time in bankruptcy, under his TROPICAL COMMERCIAL BANK, Kabo distributed cars, houses, and other valuable things to the people of Kano.

When Dan Kabo was alive, the number of people who went to Hajj without spending even penny from their funds were countless.

However, despite the magnificent building that the late Dan Kabo laid out for his fellow Northerners, there were some who were not interested in the development of the Northern region, and they saw Kabo Company as a viable option for the country.

Although there are many wealthy people in Kano State and other Northern States of Nigeria who have benefited from his wealth, not a single person has been able to invest in the revival of the late Alhaji Kabo Airlines.

It is strange to see a society like ours in the North where we always kill ourselves.

Take a look at Bank of the North, for example. It is also alleged that Bank of the North, which has its headquarters in Kano State, was destroyed by unscrupulous individuals.

May Almighty Allah continue to rest his soul. Ameen.
