Bauchi Speaker Salutes Katagum Youth for Unity

The Bauchi State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman  (Dangaladiman Ningi) has saluted the youth of Katagum Constituency of Zaki Local Government Area for their unity and braveness in sports activities.

 

He made remarks during the closing ceremony of Ubandoma Football Competition organized by the member representing Katagum Constituency Hon. Mukhtar A Suleiman in Katagum headquarters of Zaki Local Government.

 

The Speaker said he was highly impressed with the large turnout of youth at the event, attributed it to the unity, patriotism, and commitment of the youth being championed by Hon. Mukhtar.

He urged the youth to remain steadfast and avoid all social vices and ills so that they will be the future leaders the society is envisaging.

 

Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman also extols the values and quality representation of Hon. Mukhtar Suleiman at the State Assembly which he said is already yielding so many good results to the Constituency.

He mentioned infrastructural development, empowerment, and philanthropic and humanitarian services initiated by the Member and the renovation of Government Secondary School Katagum which he facilitated and is about commence, as some of the dividends of democracy he brought to Katagum Constituency.

In his remarks, Hon. Mukhtar Suleiman thanked the Speaker for suspending all his engagements to attend the event which he said is a clear example of the Speaker’s humility and value for youth.

 

According to Hon. Mukhtar Suleiman, youth are the backbone of society hence the reason for organizing the competition to enhance unity and bring out the energy in them to face other challenges of life.

 

At the end of the competition, Katagum  Pillars defeated Ariri United 7 goals to six in a penalty shoot to clinch the cup.

 

The match has earlier ended in 1-1 draw when Adamu Mujiya scored the first goal for Katagum Pillars at 15 minutes of the first half while in the second half, Ariri United equalized five minutes to the end of the match through its player Musa Umar which led to the penalty shoots.

Various prizes were presented to the winners, organizing committee as well as other clubs and players that participated in the competition.
