<p>The Chairman of the PPP Policy Review Committee, Alhaji Usman Bala Muhammad, who is also the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on State Affairs, disclosed this at the opening of a three-day PPP Policy and Manual Review Workshop held in Zaria, Kaduna State.</p>
<p>Alhaji Bala noted that the reviewed manual—produced by a team of consultants—will help build confidence among citizens and prospective investors by ensuring transparency and competitiveness in future PPP engagements. He added that the review became necessary to address challenges associated with past PPP agreements and to establish a strong framework that would guarantee mutual benefits for all parties.</p>
<p>He urged participants to work diligently and contribute meaningfully to the development of the strategic document that aims to bring lasting economic prosperity to the people of Kano State.</p>

<p>In his welcome address, the Director General of the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (KanInvest), Muhammad Nazir Halliru, described PPP as one of the most dependable sources of alternative funding for infrastructure development. He reaffirmed the State Government’s determination to produce a PPP policy and manual that would meet global standards and stand the test of time.</p>

<p>Halliru expressed optimism that the revised policy would help dispel fears and build trust among both the public and potential investors, thereby creating an enabling environment for sustainable investment in the state.</p>
<p>Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Salisu Kabo Muhammad—Member representing Doguwa Local Government and Vice Chairman, Public Accounts Committee—commended the initiative. He said the legislature fully supports the State Government’s efforts to develop a robust PPP policy that would drive economic and social development by effectively harnessing the state’s abundant resources.</p>
<p>Also speaking, a representative of Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE), Malam Auwalu Hamza, expressed confidence that the workshop would produce a viable and forward-looking document capable of transforming PPP investment in Kano State.</p>
<p>The lead consultant, Mr. Nufi Barnabas, also commended the commitment of the Kano State Government and assured that his team has worked tirelessly to deliver a comprehensive policy framework that aligns with international best practices.</p>
<p>In his closing remarks, the Director General of KanInvest, Muhammad Nazir Halliru, expressed appreciation to all participants, partners, and the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his unwavering support and vision toward enhancing investment and economic growth in the state.</p>
